It can be sort of fixed but the highs distortion will still remain. Here's an explanation...

Finding a clean original is the 100% prefered method. This was applied to the whole track, I just used the close up view for visual purposes. Wrong, actually. I used a few filters and a limiter in FL Studio to fix clipped songs.

Jumping back in here with some pics to illustrate what I said earlier about "Fixing" it. For shits and gigs I used the ever so popular Swing My Door. Here is the original. Nice and clipped to fuck. Here's the attempted clip fix. Notice how the wave form is still "Flattened" but is more of a triangle shape now. This is far easier on subs then just the reduced volume clip that is being demonstrated. And here's the two side by side. Not quite as loud but far safer to play. Now the top one may look better, but because the information above the wave has been "destroyed" it sounds identical on your highs. Clipped to death.

x2 You can't "de-clip" music. One the peak has been plateaued it's there forever. Lowering it doesn't do anything but make it quieter like BJD3 said. The flat spot in the music will still get amplified and played through the speaker, which in turn will tend to overheat the coil. Play enough of these songs loud enough and you got Quiznos... Toasted Subs. It realloy depends on what your definition of "Clipping" is. If you take it in the sense that the waveform is squared off at the top, yes you can fix it, but just a little bit. The track will still have the distortion present and as previously mentioned any information that was above the waveform is now gone. When I get off work tonight, I will post pictures illustrating my point.

Video says 1 12" sub. Not to be a dick, but why are you worried about it? Just build something you like. Build it louder than you are willing to listen to. And don't automatically unlike it when it doesn't throw up the number you thought it did.

LoL, you look like my old Machine Shop teacher. Do you ride a motorcycle by any chance? LoL Are you saying you want to disable the infrasonic filter, or override it or what? You could find a way to use an equalizer to boost the 20hz range ONLY. Key point is ONLY that range so that when your amp tries to filter it, the input voltage is higher so when it filters it, it's like the filter isn't there. You get what I'm saying, or no?

Then why is 0 Gauge bigger than 4 guage?
