  1. Okay, here is the deal. I no longer know if this build is going to happen. If I get this new job, my truck is getting traded in on something else a little smaller but much NICER. So, I may have to hold off on this....but if not, here is what I have once again. MDF-Tomorrow morning! Still waiting on my check...hoping that it clears soon so I can at least get my subs and amp...I have a friend who is going to hook me up with some 1/0 wire so I can do my big 3 and also, after doing a bit of research, I found an OEM higher output alternator that "should" suffice til I can throw $500 bucks at one. AD244 alternators out of stock chevy trucks will direct swap in place of my factory little guy. So with that said, for 80 bucks I am basically doubling the alternator power. Along with the new optima battery, it should hold up for a little while. At least long enough for me to power it and tune it, I do not plan on bumping it hard until I get another battery in the back and get the rest of the stuff I need. I also plan on using a soundstream BX-15 to clean up the bass a little bit. I have been traveling all weekend and it has been raining, so my truck still looks like bucttcheecks but, monday, when I start building my box I should be able to get some pictures up. If I need to redesign the box for my new car if and when that happens, then so be it...I just want to bump already. I hate this waiting game!
  2. If you can't afford the Level 4 then the AQ is your next best bet IMO. Anything 15" and bigger can get real pricey real quick.
  3. Check out their website or get in touch with one of the guys on the XS section of the forum, they can probably tell you what battery/ies you will need...
  4. Summitracing.com has them but you are going to pay full retail price+shipping for them...gets a little pricey. Hit up amazon.com you can normally get deals on stuff on there plus cheap or free shipping. Xs batts are probably the way to go. I know Deka batteries last for freaking ever too, as they make the lift batteries in the plan I work at. I would probably go with XS though...They stand behind their products.
  5. Chode you should have known this was going to happen...Now you HAVE to post more pics...Preferrably girl+hood of car+dc shirt=forum material! Haha, just playin man, you found a very good looking young lady. God, I am speaking like I am old....Must be my kids....
  6. Going to be a monsterous box...I decided to go with 15's for $40 more dollars...More noise I guess...
  7. If I make it to south of the PA border for a sound comp one of these days you may get to see her. I am not posting pics of my wife on the web
  8. My wife could actually wear that shirt and have it make sense...haha (she is a 34 D )
  9. Here ya go! RF amp for $99! Here's another decent deal Infinity amp My buddy has this amp pushing 2 p1s and it sounds great! Kenwood amp
  10. I really hate to say this, actually, I can't believe I am about to say this....Check out Onlinecarstereo.com and look at some of their stuff....here comes the painful part....Lanzar....I know they are junk, but I had one for my first amp, and with 2 15's it was the loudest system in town for the year that is lasted. Lanzar amps are dirty power though, so you have to be careful with that gain knob... Or just save up a bit and get something a little better...Audioque maybe? Kenwood? Alpine? They all make affordable amps, you just need to know what will work and how much amp you want or need.
  11. Should i call ken? No, you shouldn't....haha But you should buy like a nice pair of soundstreams or something to fit in that hole....I think they would do ya better. Not to mention last about, a million times longer!
  12. Chris, you know, I am about an hour away from you bro, we should meet up sometime this summer and demo some ish after I build the system in my truck and you replace your audiobahn speaks...
  13. The problem is, they weren't free and they should be for all the longer they last! Then again, they probably couldn't give those things away......Well, maybe I am wrong, since chris payed for a set...Oops...
  14. It has been too long since I heard that name...I thought people quit using audiobahn forever ago...like right after it came out?!?!?!? Sorry you wasted your money man. Should have went with, well just about anything besides audiobahn...haha
  15. x2 It sounds like you have a bad ground or someone didn't wire something correctly. Check the Pin connections for the camper brakes and brake lights and verify all the grounds are good. Sounds to me like someone wired them up constant instead of to the rear tail lights like they should be, could also be the issue.
  16. Don't get down about it man, MDF is cheap. Speakers are expensive. I wouldn't put my $200 dollar a peice subs in a box with a cut in it and risk damaging something. Building a box isn't easy the first time you do it...Practice working with your power tools a little more and be proficient with them so mistakes like this won't happen again. DON'T give up. If everyone would have given up every time they messed up, where would the car audio industry be today? No one is perfect bro. Fix it up and do it right!
  17. I am a member of another forum s10forum.com. These guys posted up a while back and they have been a hit. Good prices and quality products. I know a lot of you guys like droppin your whips to tuck a little tire, and I thought this site may help since I haven't heard of them before, I decided to post up to let you guys know about it. This is not an advertisement in any way, just trying to spread the word that if you need parts, check these guys out. Most people on S10 forum swear by them. The suspension source website
  18. Don't forget that if you strike a hard bargain, people will drop prices. You have to tell them what you want to pay, not let them tell you how much you are going to pay. That is how I got my blazer for 3K instead of 4.5K like they wanted. And I walked in with cash....
  19. Yes I have the 4.3L V6...And not there is not oil in my coolant, nor is there coolant in my oil....that I know of....I think the cooling system needs flushed because the coolant that came out was all rusty and stained the whole front of my engine. I need to take this thing and get it cleaned up before pics. I am debating doing door pods now too for my JL audio Comps that I already have installed.
  20. I almost decided not to go with XS, but now, I think I am going to suck it up and spring for the D3100.
  21. Do what makes you happy, and don't do anything that is going to get you into trouble with the man to get where you need to go!

Quite a few people run them on multi woofer set ups because of how much power they put out. There are people on youtube that power vehicles with 10-15 and sometimes more subs on 1 or 2 of these amps. They are indeed insane.
