my un-announced leave. (Not that anyone missed me) But I had to shut down CustomCarputers due to these bad economic times. Trust me, I tried my best to stay alive, but sales where vertually non-existant. Anywho, trying something new, and sales are pretty good:) I'm (was) a smoker, I found one of those electronic cigarettes at the mall (waaay expensive) but I got it anyway. I then started making e-cig modifications, posted one in a forum related to e-cigs (Here). They recommended I sell them...so now I do...at AtmosUSA.biz Any smokers out there, try that e-cig, I went from 20 cigs a day to 4 cigs in a week. They are HARMLESS. (contrary to the bullcrap FDA findings). There has not been 1 report of illness or death related to these things. They are less harmfull than New York City water!

I just got an e-cig about a week ago. Well, I've gone from smoking disgusting, stinking, killer real cigs to smoking harmless e-cigs. Actually not smoking, but vaping. All they pretty much contain is nicotine, which is not the cancer causing, breath stealing, stinking ingredient that real cigs have. Anyone interested in them check out this e-cig forum for a ton of info. I'm telling you, if you want to quit smoking the real ones, the e-cigs work. But keep in mind, it's an "alternative" to smoking. (Kind of like the patch, gum, etc)

Funny how when I look through the build pics I continually think "Man, that's gonna look rough, or ugly", then by the time it's done it looks better than ever imagined.

Sounds: Just run sound from the motherboard to your amp(s), the output quality is determined by your amp(s), not the PC. Video: Use a video splitter cable to split the video to go to 2 monitors. Or splitter box that allows 4 more monitors. Power supply: PC's need a clean 12 Volts, so you can't hook it up directly to the car, you'd fry the PC. See some power supplies here. I'd recommend the Opus 150W, depending on what kind of PC it is. You may also want to disassemble it and make your own (smaller) case.

Carputers are awesome. The only thing is: Windows sucks. We are working on our own Linux opr systym, but that will be a while Steve, when you get a chance, the DFX skin has been updated, I can help you set it up.

Steve, on that video...the sound is from the carputer? Or...are you running all music from the carputer? Or do you have a regular HU in there too?

That's the thing about teachers, most have not worked as techs for long. People come up with these "huge ass" formulas which don't mean crap in the real world.

I'm thinking about playing around with this buying stocks online. I have absolutely zip experience with this, and I'm sure pros would tell me not to do this. However, it would seem like it's fun. Questions: Can I just go online (like to ScottTrade dot com) and spend like a 100 bucks and buy some Toyota stocks? Is this how it works? Or must I have or spend much more than that? What's the cost of buying stocks online, or... what would it cost me to buy $100.00 worth of stocks?

Sure, but car shop bills also say "not responsible for damage..."beyond our control", people get free repair or reimbursed for "stolen" items all the time. Then again...a towing company is different. I doubt they'll admit any damages, or they'll just tell you "sorry-can't help you"

Be more specific. The shifter won't move out of drive? Or, it moves, but the truck stays in drive? Weird, because if it's stuck in drive, the engine shouldn't crank. (P/N safety switch should prevent it from cranking because it's not seeing it in Park or Neutral) But yes, it certainly seems something the towing company did. Good luck getting anything out of them...I wouldn't even bother trying.

Funny Guess you are black. I allways wanted to go to a black church...seems much more fun than the tighty whity church. I just just think I'd be out of place . Being a foreigner (well almost, been here 28 years) I can see where the black community has been "short-changed" (to say the least). However, I can't agree with a pastor speaking in such ways...everyone must base their own opinion, and certainly not hear any negativity about any race..from any pastor. There certainly is nothing in the Bible about preaching in such manners.

Just curious of everyone elses opinion: I'm a white dude and consider myself not racist. I grew up in Holland, spent 2 years in Portugal, then moved here. I never experienced racism until I moved to the USA at the age of 16. (not that there is no racism in Europe) Anyhow, again, I consider myself not racist, however, I also believe that everyone my somewhat be one. About Barack...I liked him...but.... this latest thing with his pastor...I mean, the pastor appears to not like whites, his ideas seem to be racist...right? (I haven't heard quite everything that he said) So....how can someone (like Obama) go to his church for 20 years and not agree with the pastors ideas??? (confused) I go to church. If my (white) pastor had the same thoughts about blacks I would definitely quite going to that church. I liked Obama, not any more. He seemed like a genuine guy...until this. How could someone go to that church for 20 years, (the pastor is his mentor!!!), and continue to go when his (the pastors) ideas are....absurd!! A headliner is the fabric covering of the interior of an automobile's roof. It is normally made of lightweight fabric and may have an inner framework of stiff wire or a cardboard backing for stiffness. Headliners are normally made from a light-colored fabric. Because of its light-duty fabric, the headliner often wears out before other parts of the car's interior and needs replacing. Common reasons for headliner wear include age, extreme heat for extended periods of time, frequent and drastic temperature fluctuations, nicotene from cigarette smoke, and driving with the windows open a lot. The glue that holds the fabric to the back board deteriorates over time. Also, small cracks and holes in the backboard are likely culprits. This is why, when replacing fallen headliners, it is very important not to ruin the board in any way during installation. Most cars that are garaged have headliners that last longer than those kept outside.

Interstate 695 is a parking lot...at 6:30!!! So I figure I'll stop at Mc,D's on the way home (40 mile trip) to get a bite. Great, the line is 20 cars deep. OK, I'll go to KFC instead..great, only 1 car...of course the little prick and his girlfriend in front of me can't make up their mind as to what they want to order...NEVER BEEN TO KFC BEFORE!!!! I mean COME ON!!! The rest of the way home there's a line of traffic in front of me going 35 in a 55 (for the final 15 miles). At least do the FREAKIN' SPEED LIMIT ASSHOLES!!!! Finally get home, wife's visiting her sister...porch light is not on...drop my freakin' keys...can't find them, to dark. Finally get in the house...GREAT! Dog has crapped on the floor. I'm going to bed!!!!! Good night!
