  1. ported man!!! sealed loud at higher hz maybe? if you want to own lows with those 15s hit up a ported box
  2. sorry to post dump, but i think i just fell in love with your avatar... thanks how bout he just build both and see what happens! JK but start with one and if you dont like biuild other one
  3. What he said ^^ Most of the time SQ= sealed. SPL=ported. But if your good with ported boxes and you have room just make a huge box and tune very very low and you will have plenty of SQ.
  4. 2 HDC3 12s and call it a day! wire to .5 ohm if you have electrical to support! you willl be happy!! From first hand experience, 1 HDC3 12 @ 1 0hm in proper box is nice. 2 is beautiful. If you have room send in for recone and do 2 HDC3 15s and be louderrr
  5. What kind of subs are they? and SUbs up port back.
  6. I listen to mainly rap ( a lot of low rap) and plenty of rock hop house club whatever vocals orchestra everything. Im tuned at 37hz and I am extremely happy!!
  7. if you would save for a quality amp the first time and have proper electrical and wiring then you wouldnt be wasting more money buying crappy amps that are gunna die on you. go DD AQ DC Sundown. SOmething worth your time and money. Then never worry again, well lets hope
  8. i have a DD 2512 that will take a clean 1500rms all day
  9. I agree to the terms. 1995 Mercedes C220 nice build on that corolla cardboard!!
  10. i agree with you to an extent. the M1b/ m1c(current model) is very similiar to the AQ1200d. but the engineering and quality of parts is a little better with dd. allowing it to run same rated output at 12 volts instead of 14.4. Im sure you can see that when you tested ur M1b and it gave you 2200rms or 2300rms.. ahah The AQ 1200d doesnt do that but prolly 1500+?
  11. dude reducers or not you can make 0 gauge fit. In my opinion, if your running .5ohm on that amp it would love the current getting to it. as fecupe tested already, DD M1b ran 2200 wats rms at .5 ohm. you should love it! I used to have it. Only reason I sold it was for the DD M1c
  12. if you play mainly rap i would tune lower such as 32hz. those low lows (aka 30hz and down) will rip those kicker intro series apart. they dont take much to bottom out. you want your box to protect as much as possible.
  13. try 13.5 height 39 width 14.5 depth. port dimensions of 12x3 by 32 deep. gives you a 32hz tuning 2.47 net space. 14.57 area per cube. 36in of port area. it should make those tens even sound big on small power (300-400 rms between the 2 of them.
  14. JL XD400/4. Excellent sounding 4 ch amp. very loud yet doesn't miss a beat. Clean as ever. JL definetly has a good product here. the problem is finding it at a reasonable price. I got mine off of pacificstereo.com which is an authorized dealer for 269. not bad considering its 399 everywhere else. I would definetly reccommend. Or the DDSS series makes a decently small but powerfull 4ch amp. Just depends on power and money to spend
  15. I have an AQ 2200d if you would like. I could get you out under 400 easily shipped
  16. Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum!! Here is my first forum post. I have 2 DD 2512s. I"m designing a box for them. Need help with designing. I have a slot port design already made up but I was more interested in doing a port down the middle. I'm not ready to do a 6 inch aero port yet. I'd like to stick with MDF all the way. Is .75 MDF thick enough for these subs? And when designing port down middle, is port same width once it branches to each side? and is length based on both sides cubic feet or just one side? is it treated as 2 single chambers or one single chamber when accounting for port length for tuning? Pretty much I need help with making a slot port down center. Pictures with descriptions and instructions would be great. If no pics detailed descriptions. Thanks! Box designs always welcome. max dimensions - 33.5 x 13.5 high x 23 deep.
