  1. In my opinion I would go with the Precision Power amp. I like the clarity of their amps I have used the PPI and the HiFonics and I liked the PPI better, I have no personal experience with MB Quart but I have heard some good things about their amps. Strictly off of specs and price the MB Quart would probably be best.
  2. What the Hell are you talking about??? Car Audio may have died down in some areas but it certainly is not dead and further more there are plenty of companies sponsoring cars it's just not an easy thing to get into. Since you are "Out of the Industry" why are you a member of a Car Audio forum. May I add that if you check numbers of some of the popular main stream brands sales in recent years have crept back up, Car Audio is like anything else it has its trends sometimes its hot sometimes its not but best believe it will never die. I am a member of a car audio forum because I am still an audio enthousiast. I am still building vehicles and installing car audio in my own vehicles. I just don't work for car audio company any more. I started in the business in the 80s and some may say that I am glamorizing the past but car audio was a great business at one point with sound quality and installation techniquue being a big focus. Each year it was exciting to see the innovations made at CES. Now with the exception of a few small companies, car audio is all about who can make the cheapest amp with the most power and as long as the amp survives it is a success. Cheap is what sells, that pretty much sums it up and I am glad to be out of that business. Just stating a fact, its a free country. No my friend you are voicing an opinion. Car Audio may not be what "You" think it is but it is still very much alive and very innovative. Some mainstream brands may produce shit products but that don't mean that's what its all about. I mean last time I checked some of the biggest and most popular competitors don't even use the mainstream brands any fool off the street would recognize. Whether or not your believe it this industry is alive and well. With your mind state believe me a lot of us are glad you are out of this industry negativity is what kills and yours was unnecessary. My advise to the guy looking for sponsorship was spot on, "friend" and that is coming from someone who has build around a dozen cars for SEMA and had plenty of sponsorship myself. The rest was my opinion, thats cool, I am glad we are all glad. Alive and well is your "opinion". I dont think they guys that worked at Eclipse think it is alive and well. Or Kenwood that got bought up by JVC, or Orion, PPI and ADS that went bankrupt or MB Quart that went under. How about Hifonics that used to be a good brand. Then there are the companies that laid off 1000s of employees combined. Do they think it is "alive and well". Maybe alive but certainly not well. There is a small group of competitors and hardcore guys in the niche that high end audio has because. That does not mean the "industry" is alive and well. That is my opinion based on many facts, This is a forum where people are allowed to express opinions, or I thought it was. I can appreciate your sarcasm and I can also appreciate a good debate and you did make some points but again your "facts" can be said about just about any industry field. We all know companies come and go some live long and others go belly up but one thing that is for certain is that this industry is far from dead. Just because a company has had its run does not mean the industry is dead, if that were the case then this forum would not exist and be as successful as it is. No one is saying some of these companies haven't taken hits but like with anything in business you win some you lose some. There are some companies that survived the test of time and were able to withstand the lean years while others had to call it quits. Just because PPI filed bankruptcy does not mean they died out especially considering I am running Precision Power gear now, MB Quart is still around and producing products and while Hifonics may not be as "good" anymore some of their equipment is still solid. The economy hasn't been easy for any company in any field. I am not jumping on you for expressing your opinions I simply responded to something I disagreed with. I don't want you to think you are being attacked I just had a rebuttal to your claim. P.S. Welcome to SMD

  5. He hasnt announced a presale price yet and I am not sure about the airspace but if you look at the new 8 its a little bigger I don't know how it will affect the old. 6
  6. No problem with that at all and I thought you were asking for suggestions lol but believe me the subs with that amp will be fine and it will get loud. Wire them down to 1 ohm for more power or keep em at 2 ohm to stay efficient you don't want to beat the RE's to hell and like CleanSierra said box design tuning and amp settings are the biggest factor in this. My little 500w system puts a lot of these bs systems in my area to shame because its loud and clear not too bass heavy and no rattle. It's all on your box you need to really put some time into planning everything before you take a step in any direction. Link is bad. Edit Again I found it and for $480 that is not a bad set up at all it will get loud in the right enclosure and you will be happy in the end if you get it done right. After you get it installed find someone in your area with a DD-1 or OScope and get that ish tuned correctly. Please do not cut any corners if you have anymore questions ask away.
  7. At 2000w rms I would still run that amp or hell you wanna be boss scoop up two and do ya thang but for under $250 2000w rms cea compliant and 1 year warranty I say its a pretty good friggin deal.
  8. Well you asked for preferred and we gave you preferred no need for the all caps RAGE!!! and here is a link for a mono amp you might like CEA compliant and it does rated DB Drive Audio Savings
  9. 600w RMS the manufacturer usually lists the suggested or preferred RMS of their subs.
  10. Regardless of if he was out there I bet the shooters were gunning for him and didn't take the time to identify him just spray into the crowd. You don't just walk up with two other dudes and sprat a crowd for no reason. There was motive behind that and the biggest one I can see is it being directed at him.
  11. I can almost bet that they were aiming for Kafani the rapper who was out there. I can guarantee it is over some dumb shit now there is a 1 year old fighting for his life. What the hell is the world becoming damn this is crazy.
  12. Well to be real from the jump the network and the show will offer him a hefty compensation package including damages and the you never speak about this again clause he must sign. It will be his choice to take it or leave it, I work for a firm that defends some of the largest corporations in the world and from what I have seen 9 times out of 10 when they don't take the settlement they end up losing a lot more. Even if they manage to win the attorney fees and time spent does not amount to anything.
  13. If I understand your question correctly then the answer is a huge mess. Whether you use 8, 10 or 12 the gauge won't change anything if the wire has a good strand count. Making more that one run to the same terminals is just asking for a headache an unnecessary one at that. At the end of the day the lowest gauge I try and go is 10 gauge and I use Stinger HPM makes life simple because I am not fighting the sub to fit terminals especially when I need to twist multiple pieces together to drop the ohms.
  14. Looking at late dec early jan and price point mentioned so far is about 185
  15. If you haven't done this yet I have two Massive Audio Blade 1000's that measure 9x6.5" thin as hell so they make custom jobs easy.
  16. I am in love with Sundown Audio and those subs my money wasn't right earlier this year but it is now and I was planning an SA-8 system 4 to be exact and waiting on these would give me time to get everything else together. Plus scooter makes a point Sundown Components FTW I would love to do a complete Sundown build.
  17. Considering I am a stickler for matching my equipment I would go with the Precision Power amp on SonicElectronix. It is a little cheaper than the MB Quart and like I said before I like my equipment matched up. I would say match amps and get a Hifonics Hfi100.4 but Sonic's is all sold out if you can find a 4 channel Hifonics then go that route. EDIT What model PPI speakers did you get?
  18. You should specify what your question is but going off your title I like the Crescendo XST2 or Precision Power PPI PT.2
  19. Go with the Precision Power you will be happy with the sound quality and they make 6x9's as well so you can stay concise plus their amps are reasonably priced and I have never had issues with them.
  20. IMO no the sound quality is sub par at best and that isn't really the best deal because those same speakers purchased from Sonic's would amount to $62.
