i don't care for this genre, but a friend put on 'Flux Pavilion - Bass Cannon' in my car and made the subs hit harder then any other song i had put on before.

i imagine you avoid speed bumps like the plague.. and i thought some of the honda whores around here had low rides. -

so curious then, i currently have a Kicker DX500.1 that had been powering a pair of 12" Kicker Comp's... recently got a pair of 12" CompVR's and looking to get a "decent" amp around $200 - $300 that will provide those subs with the power they need.

is this amp any good? not really finding any reviews on the thing. just considering it because of how 'inexpensive' it is. i'm worried about heat-related issues. http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2011/amps-D1-6000D.html

i decided to go with the dupli-color spray paint & some of those dupi-color touch up paint vials. the dash piece just pries right off so i removed that and laid it on the ground (with newspaper under it) & gave it a good coating with the spray paint, let it dry, then went over again with a 2nd coating. once it dried i put it back on. the other panels i ended up using a combination of masking tape & newspaper to cover up the areas around that i did not want to get paint on & then spray painted those as well. i then used the touch up paint to get any edges/corners that needed it... as well as i used the touch up paint on the chevy logo on the steering wheel. and yes, i made sure that the touch up paint & the spray paint were identical colors. you can find the proper match you need on dupli-color's website to.

I hope this is the correct forum, but basically I want to install HIDs as even the brightest regs are still too dim at night. Ofcourse, I don't want to kill those prematurely because of this DRL b.s. Anyway, I had a 99' Astro before and disabled the DRL's by pulling a fuse labelled "DRL" in the fuse box under the steering wheel. On this 2000 model, there is no DRL fuse... Does anyone know how to disable them? [EDIT]… OOOOHHHHH. SCHNAP!!!!!!.... I found it yo'z. It was a relay hidden above the DTC. had to bend over a pin. w00t!!... now I can turn the lights on & off all I want. w0rd!

the AUX that everyone is talking about obviously works with any phone/mp3 player... but the actual USB jack is intended for USB flash drives(will not work with external hard drives going through a USB cable however). i believe to be able to connect your "iphone/ipod" directly, it'd have to go through some sort of dock.

MicroSD card info
voxigenboy replied to LT.Smoke's topic in Cell Phone Central - Sprint, AT&T, Verizon - All things Cellular
http://www.sd-card-recovery.net however, software based recovery doesn't always work. and stop screwing around trying to access it right now as that can cause issues with the recovery process. the best thing to do is leave it a lone until you are ready to recover. there are places that can do hardware based based & has the highest chance of recovering.. only down side is that it's always pricey. that's more of a last resort & generally something you do only if what you need recovered is extremely important. -
well, i haven't seen any 6x8" components(but i'm sure they are around?).. but full range speakers though, i'd possibly look into Kicker/Rockford Fosgate/MB Quart as they are pretty decent for the price and still cheap enough to at least get some sort of amp to go with them. I know places like Best Buy have a lot of those Infinity speakers they're trying to push(and also good prices) but the high's on those things are a bit of an issue... unless you don't plan on playing music loud. if your truck can take 6x5" though, then i would suggest the Polk-Audio DXI 6500's(components). they are very good for the price(what i have in my Astro van)

how much do you think it'd cost for such a job? i'd do it myself but my handyman skills are sub par. i can repair pc's & cellphones though. ;P -
amp related, but also sub related... o_O
voxigenboy replied to voxigenboy's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
hmm... well, i do want CVR's... and would prefer a single 'big' enclosure for 4 of them, but then i'd have these 2 extra enclosures i'd be stuck with. i guess for now possibly, just get a pair of CVR's & that 1000.1 amp... then try to sell the current subs/amp & go from there. -
ok, so currently I have a Kicker DX500.1 amp & a pair of Kicker 12"Comps in an enclosure. I've got a second enclose just sitting there and have decided to remove all seats in my Astro van(a side from driver/passenger ofcourse). anyway, in the 2nd enclosure I'm probably just going to put a pair of 12" Kicker CompVR's & get that 1000.1 amp for them. is that a good idea or should I do things differently?

alright i took it out and got it exchanged today. i complained about the issue to the salesman and he offered to let me get the PA880 instead... which is bizarre as that's a mono amp.... o_O regardless, i installed the new one, turned off bass/lows, and adjusted the the highs/gain to hopefully something that will be ok and so far driving for about 20 minutes the amp hasn't gotten crazy hot and haven't heard any weird distrotion yet.
-
ok, I just drove from San Diego up to Laguna Beach & back. had the volume on 25 the whole time(maxes out at 35). when I got back off the freeway, coming back into town, I noticed this weird high pitched distortion. when I finally stopped, I touched the amp and it was burning hot. is that normal? if not, what's a 'cool' running amp that can hold up to a long drive?

I ended up getting a bigger vented enclosure. nothing fancy, but it does seem to have helped a bit. now what to do with the old enclosure... table/chair possibly
