I got a question so I see a lot of people get lvl4s with lvl5 softs, whats the difference between that and an xl? Just the motor?

Im getting a dc xl 12 on monday that I got from ebay. Guy said it was in good condition but who knows. Any ways I dont have a multi metter so cant check that way. But I remember seeing a video on youtube that said you can check voice coils with a small battery, any truth? I dont recall if he used a AA or a 9v but he said if the cone moves when you hook it up your good if not the its blown. I cant seam to find the video anymore so I cant double check

Love the box. Im looking for ideas for mine. At first I wanted it to be able to fold( I dont realy even know why but those ones that fold dont have the air space for bigger subs). Is your box all one piece? It kind of look like a box and the midgate frame or am I wrong. Still looks kool by the way. Wish I had the skills to design my own. Ill probably get someone to build mine.

so does the youtube converting cause clipping? I have downloaded converted song and with no bass I could tell the quality was there but when in my car I thought, hay... The bass will drown out the poor quality.

Not trying to hijack but if some one could answer my question, thats cone on your subs a dust cap? Is the original dc cone still under it? if I get one of the others (original cone) can I just buy this dustcap and place it on? I m getting one soon and like the look of this one more.

Would any of you pay 250 for an xl 12 with upgraded spiders? Guyssaid it runs good but I dont know if it had any kinds of problems that he would say anything.

Doin a little reading up on the dc subs and think it might be time for my first dc. Dont have much space so im looking to buy just one but go big,12 or 15/ xl or level 5. I have read about adding options like dust caps, different spiders, different surounds, different cones(tfs). And wanted to know if theres a place/thread to read up on what option there are to choose from. Thanks

Yes I would agree the the hifonics hfi doesnt do rate but my l7s got loud. Maybe its my 12+cuft box runing my 2 kicker l7 15

Running stock alt? If so power cant keep up. Same as my first system 2 15 kicker l7 and a hifonics hfi 2000, first song shakes the f^ck out of the car then you replay the song and your like wtf happened, wheres my bass....... How are the hifonics speakers. Im running stock speakers so enything is better then stock. I hear there good for the money. Any input?

goin on to my 2nd set up thirds if you count my little 12s sony explode . I was goin to go with more kicker l7s ( first real sub set up, I know some of you dont like them I did) but everyone loves dc and im wanting to see what I have been missing out on plus l7s get loud but I dont have the space I need for 2 of those wich is what im aiming for (2k watts). Now hear comes the tricky part. My box building skills suck. I built my l7 boxes and yes the sound good (all luck, at the time I didnt even know what tuning ment)but look realy bad. So dont bash me but im buying a box, its for my avalanche and its a midgate latch box. air space is limited. So instead of 2 level 4 or what not im lookin at 1 level5 15 maybe a 12. Box dimensions are 30 wide 16.5 long and 15 deep wich is a little over 4cuft. Yes? No? I am consered about the weight of the level5 he said he ships the box and baffle in 2 pieces so that way I can add an other layer and he uses 3/4 mdf.

a few months ago I saw a guy I kind of knew from high school and he was trying to sell me his orion hcca 12. Anyways I was show him my kicker l7 15 that had just blown a few min before. And he said it may have had somthing to do with my hifonics hfi 2000. He said cheap amp produce cheap power(he tryed to explain it to me, im new and didnt know if it was BS or not). Is this true? Im mean I looked the amp up before I b ought it it had good reviews but most people said it doesnt do the power it said but was a good amp for the money. I started thinking, well I payed 220 new for 2000 watts or so, why else would people dish out 500+ for the same power amp by kicker or other brands?

So if a dc level 5 12 and 15 both do 2k watts how much louder are we talking hear with a 12 vs 15? I have been looking into this since space is limited.

One day when looking through ebay I was these rotor chrome covers, I guess the cover up the rotor and beakes. I guess the mount in back if the rims. Since my rotors are rusty and dont have all the money I need for.new ones and brakes yet. I look for a temp untill I can upgrade. Anyone know what there called? I cant seam to find them any more. And where to get them? Thanks

I got 2 new l7 15s for 500 shipped on ebay no box. The 2011 just came out and cost like 300 and up on ebay but the old stock is cheaper and pritty much the same product. I was watch on on ebay today that sold for 190 new but old style I think the 08 style wich looks the sane as the new but a lighter shade. Plus you need a big box to make hit hard. I got mine in a little over 6cuft

Are these only sold direct from dc? I new to all this and have seen people on hear and other forums love dc, why? If others love them why not me, right!?
