Kind of a stupid question but do a sub with a 4˝ voice coil sound louder than the one with the 3˝voice coil???????

I must be a fool. You have a sub for 6 weeks, but blow it after only 20 mins on a 500w amp with the gain set at 3/4. But I am the one that has to try and be nice.... I think I will go back to my english homework.
