Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
Texas Tech replied to Texas Tech's topic in SMD SPORTS CENTER! NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, COLLEGE....and MORE!
Howlong have you been taking the submission holds, Do you know a lot of holds and where to stress joints and such? -
Well, for those of you that dont know what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is i pasted info from wikipedia. is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. Does anyone do this kind of fighting or watch it or anything. My friend is taking classes (2 a day) for this stuff and i have been watching it for a long time now. I am not taking the classes becuase i dont have time too everyday, but he teaches me what he learned and we usually fight for about 2 hours everyday for just practice. What provoked my friend to take these classes was that he got his ass kicked in a fight a little while back. There is some crazy stuff they do, and it is really fun to watch (I think) But anyways, I am jsut trying to learn as much as possible before i go to Tech for the fall, not cuz i want to fight someone, just its fun and interesting (I could never see myself getting in a serious fight like that)

The Big 3 Explained
Texas Tech replied to Mr. 973808's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
So i called a guy today about installing the Big 3 wires, just calling around to see what kind of price range i am looking at. I told the guy the 3 wires which he understood, and he told me that i am going to want to upgrade a wire that runs from the alternator to the fuse box. Do you guys who have done this, upgrade the wire from your alternator to your fuse box? Or know what wire he is talking about. -
Well not many responded to this, but i am going to give an update. For the past 6 weeks i have worked with a team of 3 others. 2 guys, one a EE student at Texas Tech and the other a ME student at Texas Tech. The other team member was a girl who did not have a major chosen. Problem: One of the Professors daughter has Cerebral palsy (neurological disorders that cause physical disability in human development, specifically the human movement and posture) and our job was to modify a three wheeled bicycle for her to better suit her needs for riding a bike. Goals: We started out with 4 main goals: Motorize a three-wheel bike Implement basic control functions Remote Control Braking System Create Adaptive Foot Pedals Not all goals were acheived due to not recieving a couple orders but a lot of things were completed. The End product is completly different from what we started with. We changed the way she steered teh bike, motorized it, created kill switches, implemented remote kill swith of the motor, modified the frame and sitting position of the bike, created protection guards along the wheel (protection against spokes) The bike we bagan the project with is almost identical to this one except it is red. I will post up pictures of the finished product and pictures of progress when my team member emails me our presentation.

okay i have a question... Say you have 2 amps (keep it simple) and you use that bus bar idea. You obviously have to have a constant 12 V connected to the bus bar, the REM wire from the head unit to the bus bar, and a ground from the bus bar to the metal of yoru car. Then you have 2 REM wires going from the bus bar to the 2 amps. Well my question is, do you only need ONE constant 12 V connected to the bus bar, or 2, since there are two REM wires going to two individual amps. Also, same for ground, do you need ONE ground going from the bus bar to the metal of your car, or two grounds.

Hyphy Gone Wrong
Texas Tech replied to Mr. 973808's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
dude that seems kinda fake... i am just saying -
Well, i have never done anything like this so i am still kind of lost. But from what i am trying to understand, you are kind of just using a "bar" to distribute the 12 V source. Do you have to use a ground for each REM wire you use, or just one ground. I figured since everything metal is touching, just one ground would be fine.

no efficiency rateing for the amps sucks tho! -

yea, i agree i just googled clipping signal and found some info Because the clipped waveform has more area underneath it than the smaller unclipped waveform, the amplifier produces more power when it is clipping. This extra power can damage any part of the loudspeaker, including the woofer or the tweeter, by causing over-excursion, or by overheating the voice coil. -

well we dont really know his scenario so can we really say where to put his gain, Maybe saying not all the way up is understandable, but to tell him to put it at 1/4th? -
does buying those y adapters effect the signal, does it create more noise or anything into the signal, i might try that for a quick fix for now
-
thanks but it says i have to have the specific punch equalizer knob for this specific series of amps (the power mini). If i try to use the power elite or Punch bass knobs they will simply just not operate Is what it said You sure are a nice guy though for real, i really appreciate it I too have a bass knob for my older P300.1
-
yea i know, i dont like that it doesnt give you efficiency I thought onlinecarstereo was massin wit me cuz i had a bogus birth sheet and no bass knob but i guess everything is how it should be
-
yea, i just liked the size, and the look better, i didnt really like the other power series look
