  1. I have a question...If I wire my 15's to a 4 ohm load, they will get a rated 500wrms bridged between the two...If I wire each of them to 2 ohms on a channel of the amp, it can handle a 2 ohm load but is rated 200wrms x 2 @ 4ohms...So will I be better with each sub on a channel @ 2 ohms or the two subs wired together @ 4 ohms?
  2. I did too, but my box for 1 12 has like 10 inches on either side allowing air back into the trunk and it is ported...With the 15's there will be like 4 inches on each side of the box and its sealed...I feel like the air flow would be restricted if the subs were faced backwards because there is so little space on the sides for the air to get around into the cabin...I agree with you tho whiteboiaudio, when I face my current setup forward, I lose a considerable amount of output, but my rattling is completely eliminated.
  3. I'm worried about blowing the seal not the window...I just want to know, am I losing a whole lot of bass by firing forwards instead of backwards?
  4. Is it a really bad idea to face the box forwards without sealing the trunk?
  5. So Thursday I ordered my 2 15's. I got the Power Acoustik PW2-15M's. Subs At least for a while, I am gonna be pushing them with 250watts rms each. Here's my problem, at least with the box I have now, it is way louder with the sub/port facing the back of the car. On songs with heavy bass, I worry about the trunk and the window already, and that is with 1 12 on 250watts rms. I'm worried about blowing the seal on the back window or blowing my trunk latch....sooooo I was just going to build a box with the subs facing into the cab, however, the new box will be sealed instead of ported, but I'm just wondering how much bass I will be sacrificing to save my car....The box for the 15's will only have about 5 inches of space on either side of it going back to the trunk but I am not going to seal it off. So, what does everyone think? Thanks everyone!
  6. x2...that guy is an idiot, but I still thought it was hillarious when he was whining about his heart hurting.
  7. Link I had to share this...even if it is a repost, it was really really funny the first time.
  8. Yup, It was originally planned to release in 2004, and has been pushed back and pushed back and pushed back. I think the latest word though is June 08....correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. I still bang 2001 like it's 1999, I was just wondering if anyone knew any specific details about the release date? I've heard June 08 and sorry if this is a repost.
  10. New weezy tape out today... also check out dj Drama gangsta grillz 17
  11. I agree, people see sony and assume its shit, that amp is cea rated though, so its puttin a clean 400wrms to the sub.
  12. Just a small update, I painted my box black and installed my "sound destroyer mat" trunk kit. I put 2-3 layers of mat on the trunk lid and the rest on the underside of the rear deck. The mat produced noticably higher SPL and better SQ..some notes still rattle the same as before, but I am very impressed with overall results. The kit was worth the $40 I spent on it for sure. I would buy again and for $40 you can't go wrong. My camera still sucks but you can tell its louder than in my older vids
  13. Just now saw these vids..shits slammin, I hope your car can handle that abuse.
  14. Where you been at alpine? How is your system only 600watts..is it wired at like 8 ohms or something? Also, how bad does your trunk rattle? Nice vids btw!
  15. I've run mine @8 ohms before..
  16. "That shit right there, thats real music man, thats real slap, you know what I mean, you can hear everything, I'm talkin bout your whole head feel like its gon pop off mane, but at the same time its lovely man." hahahaha
  17. I dont know what to say...this album is fire!!!!!!!
  18. So I just ordered the Sound Destroyer Mat 50 MIL trunk kit. I have absolutely zero experience with any type of real sound deadening mat. Whenever it gets here I will be putting it in the trunk. Once the deadener arrives I will make a thread in the Member builds/show off section for my install. I'm sure this stuff isn't the greatest but it was $40 for a trunk kit w/ a roller, so anything it does help will be nice. If you don't mind, keep an eye on me, I'm sure I will have a lot of questions.
  19. Thanks Megalo! I def can't afford second skin, and I'm not dealing with any huge amount of power or SPL, I just want to clean up some minor rattles and improve my sub's kick and overall clarity/SQ. My car currently flexes a good bit where the rear window meets the roof and hopefully it will cut down on that a bit. I will be ordering the 50MIL trunk kit this weekend.
