I personally prefer a tuning of around 32 hz but all I listen to is decaf. If you listen to normal rap you can get away with 35hz tuning and still sound good

I like smoking hookah occasionally. Smoke is really smooth -
Which electrical set up would work better.
andale927 replied to Dimensions's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Honestly even if you are planning on staying with 800w-1000w rms or upgrading later the alternator is the better choice. The alternator will be able to easily power 1k rms with only 1 battery even if you bump at idle all day. If you decide to upgrade later you will have needed the alt anyway so you made the right decision either way. -
Honestly ignore what the manufacturer says that the frequency response is. Just tune to your personal preference. That said I probably wouldn't tune any lower than 30Hz and have a subsonic filter set right at that point. Pioneers don't have much xmax and you don't want to unload the subs trying to play lows.

I would buy 2 Fi ssd's or Bl's if you plan on staying on that much power. Also depends on home much room you are willing to give up in your hatch.

Buy a soldering gun. A soldering iron will take too long to heat up the joint and transfer alot of heat to the sub. A soldering gun will make sure the sub receives less heat.

XS Power D3400
andale927 replied to andale927's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
That is not my question. What I mean is that since my alternator cannot keep up with my needs the excess is being taken from my battery. If the D3400 is not deep cycle and has thin plates as stated on the site the battery will quickly be ruined when it discharges to less than 70% capacity. -
Hi guys, I recently killed my cars stock starter battery and was about to buy an XS Power D3400. Now I know that my alternator will not keep up with charging the battery so I am looking for a deep cycle battery. When looking at the specs it looks like the opposite of a deep cycle battery, it has very high cranking amps and is listed as a power cell. Other sites list it as a deep cycle battery. What I want to know is if this will last long with me deep discharging it all the time. My system is 2200w RMS and I have a 110 amp alternator.

Hi, I have been looking for the song comfortable numb bassremix that I saw people demoing with on youtube. I have used the search function and gone through 3 pages of threads and even pmed bigpimpin but he hasn't responded. I am sure he has better things to do than pm me a link to the song, I ask if anyone please could pm me a link to the song I would be extremely thankful.

Hi guys, I just bought a BTL 15 fully loaded. I designed the box and just wanted to post it to see if you guys have any suggestions. My one concern is port area, what exactly does it effect? Does it only affect port noise or does it affect output too? Also what type of amp can I get that will power this for around $300. I was looking at a Hifonics Brutus 2608 but I can't decide between that and an aq2200. Obviously the aq2200 is better build quality but even though the Brutus is over rated it probably does about 2400w, which is more than the aq. Are there any other options I have?

I am actually majoring in computer engineering and my dad is an electronic engineering professor so I can borrow an oscilloscope from the lab xD. One more question which is actually unrelated to my original thread but I don't think its worth creating another one. I have a 08 Nissan sentra se-r spec v and it had a "premium" rockford fosgate system. I would replace it with my own head-unit but that would disable the trip computer on my car. So I was wondering if I could use a high level to line level converter to give a signal to my amp. My concern about this is sound quality. Do these noticeably degrade the sound quality? Also the stock rockford amp puts out 100w to each rear channel which is what I would use for the sub, but all line level converters I have found say they can only handle 50w

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't think I can wait till the time it takes for me to have enough for an amp so I am going to do it anyway But I will take what you guys said into account. I have access to an oscilloscope so I can make sure that the amp isn't clipping. That being considered conclusion = 300w will be okay as long as its not clipping at all?
