Got a 2000 RMS Mono block amplifier and I need to know if level 3s can handle that kind of force. Amplifier is a Hifonics HIF2000D. Budget: $300 Want: 2 12" subs. I would get level 4s...but I'm on a budget so level 3s will have to do in the meantime.

I know what you mean, I have 4 audiobahns...and they ain't satisfying my need for the BASS, I mean, they kick out 143dBs at 1/2 gain...but I've been wanting DCs for a while...but at the moment I have to fix up my car...so it has to wait =(

you dont think i searched on google? most sites are not credible at all for that kinda stuff, hence why i posted a thread for some help. drrrr anyways, you cant just run the pos and neg wire into the pos and neg wire of the parking lights?? We weren't laughing at you, I just thought that was funny. =P Umm...a suggestion...if you have the money...you can take off your front bumper...cut a rectangle box out for it, fiber glass it...there's your mount for them... it'd look nice in my opinion, just throwing it out there.

XS power batteries are very good batteries, I'd recommend it.

Been doing it for a year now...nothing has gone wrong yet. =P It's never plugged unless I'm supervising it...but I guess it's not wise for me to be posting fire hazard stuff, I suppose.

Caps are suppose to hold their voltages or whatever power the have in them...but you're suppose to drain out the power before disconnecting them and recharging them back up with power when you are re using it. Like mad mike said, Check it.....but like every "battery" they eventually lose their holding power.

When on a budget, I recommend DC audio. Their subs are really reasonably priced and they have excellent customer service and that amp is perfect for level 2 or level 3 DCs.

I agree on this...computer power supplier will not power the recommended power needed for an amp. User a power converter. I saw a friend had this setup a while back. He used a 14.4v converter and used the RCA jacks from a camera that converted into an audio jack, plugged it into his computer and voila! I do the same set up at my house. I also used a .4 v converter for the power remote switch....although there is other ways. If you have a little bit of experience in electrical...you can do what I did, take apart of a converter that has an output of 14.4v (you can find these from remote control car battery chargers mostly) and you can connect 8 gauge power wire...just make sure you have a cut out for your cover and replace the cover over the converter...I don't want you getting shocked. Hope this helps a little

...If there was such a "recommended space"...I wouldn't be asking the question.. It just has a Minimum and a Maximum space that can be used.

Okay I know the larger the box the lower the sub will play but the less power it will handle and the smaller the box the higher the frequency the sub will play and the more power it will handle...so which would be better for woofers... small volume box, in between volume box or maximum volume sealed box?

The type of subs is located in my signature.. it's going to be 4 ALUM10N audiobahns.

Well in my manual ...for my subwoofers...it says something like and EBP of less than 45 is for sealed...and greater than 65 for a ported box...although the EBP of my subs are 56...so that's what I'm confused on.
