  1. ridiculous...Thats the one thing on SMD that I see almost no one uses
  2. Yea thats what I thought and from what I've seen they're freakin huge some of em are almost as big as amps!
  3. Yea I had a nice space heater but it broke and became unsafe to use..Haven't got around to getting another because theres wayyy more things on my list that are in front of it
  4. Ha I'm quite aware but its too freakin cold outside and i'm feelin too lazy to put on 3 under armors and 2 coats to go do it lol good god. its 60* here in cali but it was in the 70s last week. ha yea consider yourself lucky man its probably under 20 right now here it sucks pretty bad half of my stuff I can't even finish for my build because it needs to be done outside and the garage is too damn cold
  5. ahh good thinkin that didn't even cross my mind i do have a cordless drill!

  7. isnt that the same thing? 1st off, you dont need it unless you like to sit with the car off, playing your system until the battery dies. if you are smart enough to not do that, you dont need one. - But it will be hooked up to my stock starter battery which is a lead acid...It was my understanding that different type batteries don't do good together in parralel? 2nd. if it was working in his car until you pulled it out. then im sure it still works. - He dissconnected his second battery quite a while ago so I didn't really have a way to see if it still worked good or not. last, put power to the coil on the relay then take a dmm and measure resistance across the two poles. if you get a reading, it works. you should also feel the click from the relay when you power the coil. - This will work without the ground pole grounded even? no, of course you need a complete circuit on the pole for it to work. you could just use alligator clips or something from a 12v battery to the pole for a quick rest. Ok thats what I thought I'm gonna do that as soon as I can find a 12 volt battery around here
  8. isnt that the same thing? pretty much. dont ask me why but I was thinking they functioned opposite after you posted that i had to stop and think abotu it. Retard moment for the day isover ill go to the corner now. lol well I've actually thought battery relays and isolators were two different things too for quite a while because I watched exocontraltos video on them and he described them as if they were two seperate things.... I say this all the time. Please do not rely on EXO for information. Yea after seeing some of his videos I came to that conclusion too lol Well whats the difference then? Does an isolator have a run that goes straight to the alt so the batteries are truly charged separately?

  11. maybe try connecting your ground directly to the battery to rule out any ground problems...
  12. Heres the exact one I have http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/PAC-PAC-200-High-Current-200-Amp-Isolator-Relay-PAC200.htm It says relay AND isolator.....

  14. hmm I would think that if the remote wasnt getting enough to turn on the amp light wouldn't even turn on but if a relay is needed heres the thread that will help you in case you already didn't know http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/22495-multile-amps-or-accesories-on-remote-lead/
  15. I have this 200 amp pac battery relay that I took out of my dads truck because he no longer needed his second battery, it was in his car for about 4 or 5 years so it was in there for quite a while lol...Is there a way I can test it to make sure it works correctly before using it in my car?
  16. Lol I can't quite tell what ur getting at I was agreeing that fuses should be used to protect against wire shorts and fires...
  17. Well if you think about it wire catching on fire is about in the same category as damaging your equipment that would be pretty bad lol
  18. Yea fuse ur LEDs man pretty much everything you don't want to risk getting damaged should be fused in your car...
  19. shit I would say with that budget you could get two a setup with 2 18's goin including upgraded electrical..
  20. Yes... Yes you would....thanks for the helpful comment tho lmao
  21. lol smartass....but yea that makes sense I think I'm gonna go ahead and do that next time because I hate when my stuff doesn't look good
  22. well as of now its lookin like I'm gonna get one HC2000 throw an isolator in between it and my starter acid battery and then eventually get another hc2000 and replace with starter battery with that..sound good?
  23. Thats actually clever I never thought of that I guessed I just wasn't prepared for the lowes cutter to have the skills of a 3rd grader with the panel saw.. Ok?......
  24. Yeah man, don't wire two batteries of different types together Alright so I guess that isolator is gonna have to be used...since its a 200 amp one wouldn't it choke the batteries amperage a little? I'm not sure how that works man, but I'd imagine you'd need to run 1/0 wire which can carry up to 250-300a depending on the type of wire you go with so I'g guess 200a is a bit on the small side. Hmm well I'll deff be running 0 gauge but I guess I'll have to test the output once I get the isolator installed..
