  1. I compiled a list of music that I personally listen to in my car when I want some bass. These songs are definitely great songs for bass. I don't know exact frequencies. I linked each one to a download and starred ones I really recommend
  2. Reason one of my amps fried: for starters they are really shitty legacy amps, but main reason is my little brother decided to "tune my system for me" while he was borrowing my car for the weekend. he set the gains all the way up, then messed with my head unit and changed my lp and hp filters, and when i got my car back sunday night he said the subs didnt sound right. thats when i posted my last topic because i couldnt figure out what was wrong, which i now know. ive never had a problem before this happened, and now i have everything in my head unit set back to the way i had it. as for everyone ragging about saving money and talking about crappy systems and whatnot, while i do feel thats usually true, in this case im not trying to make myself feel better. i started with two kove audio 15"s, a dual amp, and 6 gauge wire. moved up to 4 gauge wire, then a legacy amp, then 1/0 wire with the big 3 also in 1/0, built a new box tuned for alpine r 15"s, picked up a second amp, switched out my subs with two alpine r's, and then i ran into my amp frying out. i was planning on waiting until my income tax return comes and getting a new amp and high output altinator, which i am still doing, but i just want some bass until then. the only reason im looking for as much output as i can get for a small budget, is because once i get my new amp. the one im buying now will be going into my little brothers car which has the same setup as my car but 12" alpine r's instead of 15"s, but he only has an 800watt walmart amp, so i wana give him my temporary amp. hope that clears up the air a little
  3. Haha, people, i know im gona get a shit amp for whut im willing to spend. This is only temporary because i wont have the extra spending money for a good amp for another couple months. For now, my budget is $100-$150 tops, and i just want as many watts output as i can get for the price. In a couple months ill have the extra hundreds to spend on an amp i actaully want. For the time being, i dont care about shitty brands, sound quality, etc. just power output. The lanzar amp is fused the highest (that i can find) with two 70amp fuses. Dont tell me saving for a better amp would be better, i know this already ill have the money, im not worried about that, i just want something temporary until i get paid in a couple months.
  4. I fried one of my sub amps, so im pulling them both out and going with a single 2channel amp. I need help deciding what to get. Im on a VERY tight budget, $100, maybe $150 absolute tops, and would like to get the most power output for my money as possible. For the near future im less concerned with quality and more about wattage. Im thinking of getting a Lanzar MXA284, its fused at 140amps, which is more than other amps at the price. Does anyone else have any suggestions for an amo with the same / more power for around the same price? (dont suggest amps over $150, cant afford it anytime soon).
  5. What about a Lanzar MXA284 its fused at 140 amps.. as i said before, i dont care too much about sound quality or anything, just want as much power output as i can get..
  6. NOW MY NEXT QUESTION. my budget = $100.. maybe $150 tops.. Do i buy another Legacy LA2970BK ($75) to replace my fried one, and continue running two of those? Or buy a LogicLSX4000D ($150) and just run that? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for amps? i would like to stay under or around $100, i'll go up to around $150, thats really all i can afford any time soon. I would like to get the most power for my money, I'm not too concerned with sound quality anymore.
  7. yeahh, except now i have to waste more money on another amp..
  8. It's the amp. I've tested everything, even put the amp in my brother's car and hooked it up, same problem. the blue trim on the front of the amp lights up but nothing else. So it's the amp.
  9. I tried disconnecting the remote from the other amp and connecting it to the amp that doesnt work, so that the remote wire is not being split to run two amps but just one, and still the amp wont do anything. the led front lights up as soon as i turn the car on just like the other amp, but no power led, no protection led, and no sound. I checked all my wiring, all connections are good, everything has the right voltage. I thought maybe it was something internal, so I pulled the amp apart and checked everything I could think of, I can't find anything wrong yet it still wont work. im completely stumped.
  10. The only thing i can think of is my grounds, theyr runnig about 5 or 6 feet from the amp to where i geounded them?
  11. I have 1/0 AWG running from battery to trunk, into a distribution block, two 4 AWG wires out, one running to each amp. 4 AWG ground from each amp, both grounded to the frame of my car. one remote turnon wire from my head unit to trunk, cut and spliced to run to both amps. rca from head unit to trunk, split and running to both amps. each amp is bridged running one sub. amps are Legacy LA2970BK. my problem is this: yesterday, everything worked. today, one amp works, but the other doesnt. it has power, the blue trim on top of the amp lights up, but no pwer to the sub and neither the power led OR the protection mode led light up. ive checked everything, all wires are good, changed the fuses, and now the other amp goes into protection mode randomly. im stumped.
