  1. I run kinetiks and they don't really do what i expected, so maybe the XS is worth it. depends what you're willing to spend.
  2. pioneer TS-d series can handle some power, def stay away from kicker they cant take more than .5 watts rms
  3. Frequency all the way up on all amps gains all the way down. test 4 channel and bass amp. put the red prong in the speaker inputs for both, not the rca hole. find out where it distorts with the proper track depending what the amp does. The lower of the 2 is the max volume, then you tune both amps at that volume regardless if one distorts at a higher volume. Correct?? please re read my first post to see if i did all the right steps!
  4. yea i dont use the rcas, i put the red prong on the speaker inputs, it doesnt distort it so 62 is fine, but the bass amp distorts it at 57, so my max volume is 56 then. So i then tuned then tuned the 4 channel at a max volume of 56. used the track for the mids and highs that said higher sound quality over loudness. what i meant before, is that channel A gets tuned through pos terminals and B gets tuned through the negative terminals. HU eq was flat, sub level 0, loudness 0, everything on flat! however i just realized i had that sound retriever on. Would that affect anything? Also, if i want to change my HU eq settings will that cause distortion? Anyways, the way its tuned now shows no distortion show i feel like its ok.
  5. I give up im telling you they distort at different levels. it sounds fine right now, and im happy with it. It can be turned up to 56, but i usually keep it at 54. My mids and highs are sooo clean and loud, along with the powerful bass ive always had.
  6. yea , setting the gains on the 4 channel wasnt bad. channel A was set through the positive and channel B was set through the negative it worked out fine. Also, when i testing for HU distortion, i had my sub level at zero, even though it goes down to -24, and its highest is plus 6, so is that correct?.
  7. well think i figured this out, HU didnt distort at all on the 4 channel, but got it too at 57 on the bass amp. so thats my max volume. Then tuning the the amps themselves is a solved problem for me, even the 4 channel. Still can't believe the deck doesnt distort on the 4 channel though.
  8. i have two speakers that get powered by the HU but i have them off, cause i don't use them, so do i still need to do this? I put the red prong on the positive speaker terminal, but on 2/4, the negative is the one that detects the signal and the other 2 its the pos that detects the signal, and like i said they distort at different gain levels.
  9. what i mean is the HU doesnt distort right. then whe ni set the gains on the 4 channel, two of the channels distort at a different level than the other two. so if i move the red prong from the dd-1 to each of the 4 positive speaker inputs, they distort at different levels when setting the gains (not the HU level).
  10. what do you mean by this. its weird, like 2/4 inputs distorted at the same and then the other 2/4 distorted at a different gain. but neither triggered the HU to clip. so how to you test RCA clipping vs speaker level?
  11. yea i have the pioneer, u think my mids are gonna break? should i put the loudness to +1, then set everything??
  12. EDIT: think i figured it out, HU doesnt distort at all with 4 channel, but distorts at 57/62 on bass amp when sub level is at 0 So, i tuned the 4 channel and bass amp with the volume at 56. bass amp tuning= easy 4 channel: Channel A gets tuned through the (+) and channel B gets tuned through the (-) 4 channel : put the red prong on the SPEAKER TERMINALS, not the RCA holes, when tuning the amp, and when finding max volume. Also, I used TRACK 7 for bass amp and TRACK 4 for the 4 channel HU MAX VOLUME FINDINGS (Used TRACK 1 & 2) 4 channel doesnt distort 62/62 bass amp distorted at 57/62 everything was on flat except now im realizing i had the sound retriever setting on. is that going to be ok? the meter didnt show distortion when i tuned it so nothing can get damaged right if that was a small factor? Also, can i freely change my HU's EQ setting without retesting the amps for distortion?? Thanks for any help in advance!
  13. mines coming in tomorrow too! i wasnt sure tho if fed ex ships on saturday
  14. .005 of a difference in air space for that system will not make a difference, so you should be fine.
  15. def keep the 18s, unless you were getting the 3.0s. but def dont get rid of them for the 2.5
  16. cant wait for mine to get here. i have no idea ho high i can turn my deck too, ended up frying all my door speakers cuz i took it to a shop to be tuned, and they did it by ear, which is impossible!!!
  17. yea im not getting into fiber glassing on my bumper. is it as simple as running the pos and neg wire from the leds to the parking lights?
  18. anyone got a sketch? also can someone link me to a good brand or strip thats easy to mount
  19. you dont think i searched on google? most sites are not credible at all for that kinda stuff, hence why i posted a thread for some help. drrrr anyways, you cant just run the pos and neg wire into the pos and neg wire of the parking lights??
  20. I want to install one strip of white LEDs on each side of my front bumper. I need to know what to buy and where to hook them in
  21. yea that would be sooo legit, and the torres file so i can check it out.
