  1. I see comments disappearing. He is deleting them.
  2. My suggestions.......order from U S Composits. If your ordering from US Composits (good choice BTW), order polyester resin. Now I would suggest getting the General Purpose resin for the price if you think some might be getting wasted in the learning curve. Get the b440 resin if your confident. It wets out much better and has a good consistancy to it. As for the mat, I suggest getting the 1.5oz. I prefer ordering the mat tape rolls. It is not sticky like the name tape implies, but in a roll. It comes in different widths. 6" width about 80 yards is really easy to work with and is the best buy per yard to weight. If you feel you willl need more, then you know what to get and what works for you. Better than over ordering and getting alot of stuff you may not be using. Hope this helps you out. And fiberglassforums is a great place to learn techniques and tips. Be sure to check out ALL the stickies. There are some on what fabrics work best for framing and others on tips to properly get the mat laid down. LOTS of info. If you can get the Evercoat brand easier, get the regular polyester resin and stay away from the SMC.
  3. There is a sticky I beleive thats titled Repairing and Bonding Plastics. Look at this and apply it to your dash. I can think of 4 or 5 different methods i would recommend, but it all depends on the final outcome you want to acheive. You said nothing glossy glaring so that rules out a painted dash. What do you want it to be finished in?
  4. I have a 4 gig iPod that is 3.5 gig of old school. There is no way I could list them all.
  5. There was no body fillers on that site for what you want. On www.fiberglassforums.com we have a list of places for ordering stuff. Hell, let me find the link...... http://www.fiberglassforums.com/showthread.php?t=531
  6. Well you know I can smooth and paint all the interior for you should you need it. I have a couple powder coaters. I will try to remember to get with them and get some estimates if possible.
  7. IF YOU MUST WRAP A MATERIAL around it, fleece is one of the worst things to use. It creates more body work. Look for a material called Ponte' at Jo-Annes fabrics. Now, the reason I showed you how I did it is that it requires NO MATERIAL wrapped around it. Speeding up the process, saving you money and getting it done alot quicker.
  8. OK, don't mean to whore your thread, maybe a mod will see a better place for this? In this sequence of pics, I took the tweeters flush mounting cups and cut a hole for them to sit in some. Roughed up the surrounding areas for them to be bonded. Then I use some Evercoat Maxim medium set urethane to bond the cups to the pillar. http://www.evercoat.com/productDetail.aspx?pID=179 Then sand that down and use some Rage body filler to smooth out the transitions and your done. SIDE NOTE:::: these pillars were textured and color matched back to stock.
  9. When i think of your doors, I am reminded of this build. http://www.fiberglassforums.com/showthread.php?t=4990 Maybe borow some tips from the pics. That is kinda what I would do on your doors with all that to fit.
  10. Well the VIN numbers don't tell you anything. Nothing at all on the paint. BUT PQD number you had, IS the paint code. It is a Surf Blue Pearl. Mixed it up and took it outside and it looked perfect. At least then it did. I took it to the shop, put it on a paint stick and it looked nice. An hour later I would look at it and it seemed too dark. I went back and forth like this all day. So I don't know. In the morning, I am gonna mix up the other 2 Blue Hues and compare them all. B5 is called Steel Blue according to the painters computer. Should have done that color today since it was on the sticker of the car. But I was excited that I had thought I got the color first try. I'll have more colors tomorrow and maybe I will try to get pics for you to see. And it would be ideal for me to spray some over a white base for comparisons. But he is giving me free paint samples and there just isn't enough for me to spary correctly.
  11. Just got this from a buddy who saw it on ebay. Same colored Charger (Super Bee) and here is the VIN..... 2B3A73W58H171581
  12. Look what I just got.......... maybe this will help 2008 Dodge Charger SUPER BEE Title: RARE 2008 SUPER BEE.. NUMBER 153-1000...$42199 Mileage: 7 miles Location: Newnan GA.... 25 miles from Atlanta. Vehicle Information VIN: 2B3KA73WX8H171572 Inspection: -- Warranty: No Vehicle Title: Clear Condition: Used For Sale By: Dealer Features Body Type: Coupe Engine: 8 CYLINDERS 6.1 Liters Exterior Color: Blue Transmission: Automatic Fuel Type: Gasoline Interior Color: Black Options CD Player Sunroof Anti-Lock Brakes Air Conditioning Cruise Control Power Locks Power Seats Power Windows
  13. Here are all the colors that the new Chargers come in...... - Steel Blue Metallic Clear Coat - Bright Silver Metallic - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat - TorRed - Surf Blue Pearl Coat (with Super Bee Special Edition package) I am on my way to the paint store now. My buddy mixed me up some samples from Chryslers new blue hues for 08 so I can take them to the shop and see what will pass. On another forum, a painter said that B5 was for the Electric Blue. But that color is much darker. Similar to the 350z Blue. So I know that isn't right. So basically I think I will take the samples and have to tweak them to get the proper shade. Something really close will be sufficent I am sure. Stay tuned.
  14. Everyone I have called, talked to tells me the same thing. Not gonna get it. I talked to the manager at the dealership. He has the keys and it stays locked up. They only produced 1000 of these cars and the color is protected. When you buy the car, you get an identification code that will allow you to get the color for your car from an authorized Chrysler paint repair place ONLY. On top of that, they only get so much. And then they can only paint metal. So if you buy a cowl hood for your SuperBee, it will not get color matched cause it would degrade the cars originality. It makes since since it is a limited edition and the Super Bee is a highly prized hot rod. I don't fault them for that. Just getting the color will be a little more difficult than first expected.[/
  15. I know my paint supllier also real well. Without the paint code, you won't get the right shade. And the manager at the Dodge dealership won't come off it. And I understand the reasoning. I went to the paint shop yesterday and he is mixing up the 3 new Dodge blue shades for 08 for me. Just 4oz sample for free to see if we can get something close. But it doesn't hurt to ask anyone and see what you can find out. I appreciate it.
  16. Or knows someone who does? Or you know someone who works for an authorized Chrysler paint repair shop? Or work in a paint shop who knows people? I need the paint code for the 08 SRT8 Limited Edition Bumble Bee Charger. Sticker says B5 Blue Pearl. No paint code on the door. When you buy it, you get the code. But I need this color for the interior of a Toyota I am doing.
  17. SOLD the subs. Still have the box. Tuning is 34hz and I can find out the airspace tomorrow.
