Air space separation is when you have to big of a box for the sub or to long of a box for a sub, this also causes your sub to loose control. With your car this isn't an issue. If you are planning on spending the money for RF T2's, you might as well get a BTL. I don't think you will be happy in a sealed box. To get the best bang for the buck you should port it into the cabin area.

In your case, you don't have a big enough trunk to have air space separation. Are you going for a ported or sealed box? Side note: if you were to get say.. an btl 15 you would almost have to build the box in the trunk to get the required box volume.

Your best bet is ONE good 15 ( FI BTL, Rockford T2, etc.) with all the power you can put to it. I have seen the size of those mustangs trunks. You don't have room for crap unless you wall the wall. Good Luck

Currently right now I have a box with no bracing, its not even double layered. I have two RF T1 15s in a 5.6 cube box power by a RF T10001bd. I am hitting a 146 on the dash legal. My current box size is 16 tall 38 wide 20.75 deep. This setup is in a trunk, so space is an issue. So, to my question: would I get a gain by bracing the new box I plan on building? Okay, before you start yelling at the computer screen... I am asking because of the amount of power that I am running. For example: someone running 20,000 watts would need an ass of bracing vs me running 1500 watts. As I said before, space is an big issue for me, so I don't want to take up to much box volume with bracing that I don't need. The new box i plan on building will have a double face and I was going to do a threaded rod cross brace in the center. Is this enough for me? Do you think I need more? If so, tell me why and what kind of bracing. Also, if there is anyone who testing their setup before and after bracing, what was the result? BTW, new box size is going to be 16 to 16.75 by 21 to 23 by 38. Subs are pointed up ports forward, sub side will be doubled.

Interesting, how many sub connections are there? Meaning, do you wire all 4 subs to 2 ohm or 2 of the subs to 1 ohm and the other 2 subs to 1 ohm?

Yes, whatever ohm load the amp peaks at depends on what subs to get. Amp peaks at 4 ohms you want 4 dual 2 subs Amp peaks at 2 ohms you want 4 dual 4 subs Amp peaks at 1 ohm you want 4 dual 2 subs Amp peaks at .5 ohm you want 4 dual 4 subs

Yes four 12s are 452 square inches vs. two 15s with 353 square inches. You might want to step up to a 2000 watt amp if you get four 12s. The CVRs are 500 watt rms each, so thats a total of 2000 watt rms. Your amp opitions will change when you get four 12s.

Wait a minute now, While i love my T1 15s I truely think they are over priced. Just keep your opitions open for subs. You could get FI BL's for the same price as the RF 15s. The kicker CVR's are cheaper but i don't think the quaility is as good as RF or FI. Might look at getting some better kickers so they last longer. If you can be responsible and not pound the CVRs all the time other then the 30 seconds for bassracing, then they should last you awhile.

Okay. Let me try to break it down for you this way... Four 10s equal around ..... 314 square inches Three 12s 340 square inches Two 15s 353 square inches Now, I say around XXX square inches because this is going to change slightly based upon the subs surround. Go with two 15s, they have more cone area. If you want to do this on the cheap. Go with a RF T10001bd from High Desert Audio on ebay for 250. Make sure you buy DUAL 4 OHM subs so you can run it at one ohm. Or you could get a Sundown 1500 for around 350 to 400 and get DUAL 2 OHM sub so you can run it down to .5 ohms. The sundown with whatever subs at .5 ohms will be louder.
