  1. how would you run the line driver to 3 amps? would you just keep "y"ing the rca's off till you have 3 lefts and 3 rights? Is that the idea you have? I just want to make sure I know what you have in mind.
  2. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but from my understanding, it boosts the output voltage of the rca's, in turn, making it to where you do not have to turn the gain(sensitivity control) as high on the amplifier, which in turn, provides a cleaner signal and better sound overall. From what I understand, it will not make the sub "louder", just better quality sound.
  3. question, how come the chart says to put the smaller number in for the port width? and how come the larger number is there? I don't know anything about all this, so bear with me.
  4. LOL!!!! Funny shite man. That's not my box by any means. That is Lundy's enclosure. Anyone know anything about horn designs and how they have so much output?
  5. didn't get much response on this from the nw audio post, but here it is again. This is lundy's (sp) truck with one 15" team fosgate ran off a t3000bd. Pretty insane considering both doors and windows wide open.
  6. definately nice roof flex!!!! Just thought about that. I have a sunfire with a sunroof and i don't get that kind of flex with my shite.
  7. draped up and dripped out by slim thug and paul wall that 133 was drive by style with the mic 13 inches from the drivers window, middle of the door, outside of the vehicle. The truck did a 155 in the kick with one amp cutting out from the heat. it was over 100 all day long and he was demoing the truck. If I am not mistaken, the truck does a 160 with full batteries, amps cool, and system on tilt.
  8. Tuned to 600 watts each. What do you mean what's up with the blue truck? If you mean system, he is running 3 12" dd's with 4kw on each. I think they are the 9905's or something. roscoe knows for sure. I think it is posted in the thread in competitors corner about the nwaudio comp where the vids are. roscoe says what series they are in that thread. But that truck is mad loud!!!
  9. I will let my buddy know. Im sure some "props" would make him smile. I didn't get a vid of the first time I saw it pound, but he had one song that literally, with the windows down, made the windshield wipers bounce off the windshield. Like I said, pretty good for what he has.
  10. my buddy's single cab truck with 2 10" kicker cvx's ran off a brutus 2000watt amp down tuned to 600 watts per sub and less than a cube per sub. Stock alt, stock battery.
  11. Like the person above me said. It could be alot of things. Your HU, ground, your interconnects, if you ran your interconnects on the same side of the vehicle as the power cables. But seriously, don't skimp on the rca's. People have said it on here before. Your system is only as strong as the weakest link. Shitey rca's don't give the rest of the system justice if they let noise into the lines. Get higher quality ones, even if they are not the issue. Just my opinion.
  12. doesn't matter if your goin cross country or not man. Like I said, I am gonna plan a trip to come up from kcmo and see the whips. Will get my own hotel suite and all. It's worth it to me. You gonna be at the finals in cali with any whips? I might go to the cali finals instead of the omaha nebraska ones.
  13. what do you mean? the wire, including the jacket, or the wire itself, inside the jacket. Just cause the cable says 8 gauge does not mean it has the same strand count as the more mid to high end cable. That is what really counts, not how bit the entire cable plus jacket is, but the strand count, from what I understand.
  14. I agree with the firing to the floor. I got to experience a mazda single cab with 2 8w7's in the center console to the floor and it was incredibe!! Punchy, accurate, and when needed, was beyond the needs to fill the cabin with intense pressure. I can't say I would buy the w7's specifically, but the surface area of 2 8's would be more than just one 12 from what I understand. Just ideas for you, maybe someone can give him more.
  15. Wow, didn't realize suggesting a class a/b amp would open this can of worms. LOL!! I have been at work for 2 nights in a row, and have not had a chance to check all this out, and this all goes on. Anyways, can't knock memphis, especially if you can get the hookup on it. And fyi, I own the vrx1.500, just say the word, and I can have every single measurement of that amp. And just checked, the amp puts out 2000 watts rms at 1ohm with 149amps of current draw. Yes, top of the line!! built in italy where their vehicles have very small power supplies. Designed with an incredible internal power supply. I got mine for 1300 after tax. I know retail is 1800. So with the 2 mephis, like I said, more power to you, literally, for the money. Especially if you can get the hookup. But seriously, you should hear a double bass on my 15's with this amp. Like I said, very accurate!! He said he wants numbers, and mine puts up numbers, considering what I am running, and the vehicle I am running it in, but I am sure he can hit numbers for less money. But maybe less accuracy too. Don't know, but was just giving input.
  16. what you tryin to do with them? just sound quality for a daily system, or you trying to hit numbers? I am running an audison vrx1.500 and I am very happy with the sound quality of my 2 15" kove armageddons. The amp is a single channel 2000watt class a/b amp at 1ohm. Very accurate!!!!
  17. Blow through with 4 15's!!! But seriously, I can't say anything about the shallow mounts in the doors. I know frequencies below 100 hertz are omni directional, so I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I am not an expert. Someone help him that knows more!!
  18. does your mids and highs amp have a pass through pre out? If so, that would be the way I would go, but I don't see why you could not just Y the rca's off to each amp, as long as the amps have internal crossovers to seperate the frequencies amplified. I could be wrong about the Y to both amps, so, if I am wrong, please someone send him in the right direction.
  19. very much agreed!! Prefab no bueno. Find out the specs for the sub and requirements in airspace then build to spec or have someone here design one, then just build. Do it right though. If you don't thats just more money to fix it later.
  20. what rpm did you test at? you get full power at about 2000 rpm. hook a digital multi meter up to the positive sourse of your alt and the chassis of the car and test at 2000 rpm. See what you get.
  21. no joke man. hertz it she shite!!! They were designed to be extremely efficient and very accurate. They are made in italy where the vehicles have very small power supplies and have to be efficient to perform at their best. I cannot stress how well they perform.
  22. I run hertz hi energy 5 1/4 components, and have heard the 6 1/2's which you are talking about, and I love them!!!! I have not heard the focal's, so I cannot say anything good or bad about them. But the hertz are phenominal. I have heard their lowest line all the way to their 1000 dollar set of the mille's. I will support hertz/audison big time. I honestly would say to take a drive and check them out. Even if it is a 2hr drive, seriously. They are awesome.
  23. I would wall the 4 15's as long as the airspace is there to do it. My own opinion. And about seeing out the back, Do you have a video display on your head unit? If you do, just get a rear view camera and use that.
