Wiring at .5 and actually being at .5ohm load are completely different. You will be fine either way.

The 3500 is a really good amp, good choice. I would have traded in a heart beat...for the 5500 though. My level 4's love the 3500.

Wish you still had the 5500 we could have worked something out for my 3500.
