  1. OK, ive decided that I'm going to use expanding foam tonight to seal it off completely. should i use saran wrap or plastic bags to hold the expanding foam? The only thing I'm worried about is how much great stuff it's going to take to seal all of the gaps. Do you guys think that would be my best option to make a quick seal? Tonight is the only night I will have free and it seems like that's the quickest option.
  2. Never thought about doing plastidip. i could probably do that as well. which do you think looks better?
  3. good to hear. I will check out ur build log when I get home. Damn work computer won't let me view pics. Thanks for the help!
  4. Ya its already in there lol. I was thinking the same thing, but if spray worked better, i wouldn't mind taping it off.
  5. I almost bought duplicolor lol. good thing i didn't. but how much liner do you think would be needed for my wall? its on the c pillar of an 03 tahoe. I'm just lining the front and back of the box.
  6. I will be putting bedliner on my box tomorrow after I get it finished. What type of bedliner do you guys recommend? Will the cheap stuff look and stick as well as rhino or line x? Also, do you use roll on, or spray liner?
  7. That's true and it's not about the money necessarily. It's just that this is my DD and I just want it to look nice still. But i definitely know what you mean. and I am a noob at fiberglassing so I don't trust myself with that lol.
  8. Will that be required to fill the area or will it be fine if i just put one sheet of mdf in the front to seal it and one in the back to seal the back for my amp display?
  9. i would get 2 d3100's. that will definitely be more than enough.
  10. That's not exactly what I was talking about but that definitely seems like the way to go! I think that's the route I will take. I'll use cardboard to measure, mdf to fill the gap, and the weather stripping on top to protect the headliner. Thanks alot for all the input everyone!
  11. that seems like it would definitely work. I was thinking on my lunch break about some stuff i saw before that is sort up a rubber stripping that goes around boards. I saw it at lowes a while back. It was sticky on one side. That would work perfect as I could bend it how I want. But I can't remember what it's called. anyone know what I'm talking about?
  12. thats exactly what i said in my above post and people said thats a bad idea lol really? don't listen to me then lol. I don't mind doing it to my trunk, but a headliner is a different story for sure that sounded kinda bad the way i said it lol. I'm not saying your wrong, or there wrong, but if someone has experience with it please let me know!
  13. thats exactly what i said in my above post and people said thats a bad idea lol
  14. so scratch the post i made about spray foam lol. i'm not sure what route i want to go at this point.
  15. This is where I'm stumped. I saw hotdog's mountaineer and he used pool noodles to seal it off. That's a great idea but I'd like to use something less noticeable. I think i will put tape on the headliner, leave a gap, and then use great stuff to seal it off. I will be rhino lining the whole box so i can probably get the texture to where you wont even notice the foam. think that would work?
  16. just now saw that you said it ate the headliner eventually. That's where I'm not sure what to do. I'd really like to keep the interior nice.
  17. Never thought about using tape. I always seem overthink things and make them harder than they are lol. But that seems easy enough. Thanks.
  18. What's up everybody? I have FINALLY started working on finishing my wall in my tahoe. I have about 8" on top and 5" on the sides that I need to seal off. My plan was to use cardboard and fiberglass but i just don't have the patience or time to do the fiberglass. My question is, how do you guys seal your wall off without permanently attaching it to the roof? I don't want to damage the headliner or permanently attach it. I would like it to look good, but I am more worried about functionality than looks. Thanks for the help!
  19. Good to know! I'm just about to start sound deadening my tahoe. not to thread jack, but is this method the same for doing the floor? just deaden completely flat areas? also, do you ever have trouble getting the carpet to fit correctly after doing the floor?
  20. ok, i was hoping for at least 4k. My plan is to run 4 18" obsidians on it. Hoping to move some air lol
  21. Anyone know roughly how many watts the bc3500 puts out at .5 at 14v? I'm currently running mine at 1 ohm but thinking about switching it up. website says they are .5 stable with good electrical. Thanks!
  22. I use one called youtube converter that I got from cnet. It had the best reviews that I could find. works great. And the quality is good on all the songs.
  23. Well I don't think I will have enough room to add another 18 to the wall. I guess I could try triangle shaped and see if I can squeeze it in there. not a bad idea!
