  1. there will be no clearance 6.25 - 6.5= -0.25, the sub will stick out of box do you have the box already (prefab) or are you going to make you? another thing to look at it net volume of box, this will also restrict some of you options
  2. Why such a big amp, hope you've upgraded you electrical system to handle it, Any resion why you not happy with joex's drawing, It's what most would recommend.
  3. my current box is 1.5 @33hz 27sqin of port, plane Jane box, no extras and i was looking at 1.5 @34.5 29sqin port double brace, rounded corners, with possible flared/kerfing to port exit
  4. nothings impossible it come down to pressure over surface area
  5. go to fish-tank suppliers, thats where i get mine, and if you can find and importer its even cheaper
  6. each or 2 edit if each i can just extend port to achieve that but then ill have around 19sqin per cuft and thoughts on port, considering ive been told 14sq each
  7. The only 8"s ive ever had were sealed, used as low/mid drivers(lowpass 160/ highpass 80 on a 24db slop in conjunction with 15"s) most of the box ive build were for 12 and 15 all around 3db peek in the mid 30's and then flatten out around 0-1db@ low 40hz What ive been recommended for these in 1.5net @34hz, low pass the rca's at 160hz on 24db slop then set amp to 125hz/6db slop with 14sqin port each sub but it seem a bit peaky to me? any thought on if that sounds right? or should i change it around a bit
  8. No ran 2 sa8 in 0.25each ported for a flat response that can comment
  9. I cough up 680aus about $710us for 2 of theis It make you prices look cheep to me
  10. you could do 16 of them the same way the are now but half in half out, 4 to a side
  11. is it a bit to peeky or should i shoot for smoething like theise all are modled on 2 drivers
  12. on a side note, how do you plane to fit them all in, ive got the same car but a few models up,(Walkinshaw equipped 2012 hsv E3 r8 supercharged 6.2l, 650hp) and without removing the spair tyre or losing a tone of power, due to weight, im stuck at only 2 of theis bad boys. and with only a small box ive noticed a huge drop in et times
  13. sorry after modeling 8 of them it comes at 1.8cuft net for a flat curve
  14. Idd make the box a bit smaller or drop the power Another option is 12 sa8v2 is the same box I've been doing heaps of research on these and most say 14sqin of port per sub at 0.6cuft on 600rms I'm in the same boat still trying to finalize my final design If you mdl it you'll find @ 34hz you'll get a higher db above 50-80hz by 1db If you after a flat curve for 8 of them Look at 3.9cuft net @ 34.2hz
  15. You could run them at 4 ohm final load as the dvc4 and give the 550pr, 275 each off the 1200d Not to sure how long they will last at 600ea Also at 275 build the box to biggest re recommends,
  16. i currently have them in this box, with no bracing/ no smoothed or radiused port or double front and i'm reasonable happy,(built it as a test box for tune and port size) just looking to optimize its performance a bit, the above measurements may look a bit strange on new box but there a combination on metric and imperial
  17. sa8v1.5 on 400wrms each in trunk facing rear/pord drivers side all in 3/4, does in need more bracing or maybe in different places? thinking of 3/4 round from front wall to port wall? is it worth kerfing the port on one side between subs to port
  18. what do you mean, to pricey? there still 1/4 the price we get them for, and we pay prices like that all day everyday edit; not the 4-5k but the 1-2
  19. Didn't see the bit he's straping 4 amp for 20k And unless you willing to get 30 x 8" (witch idd love see) Idd say ddz10, on the + side you won't need 12 of them so you save a bit there Idd say around 8 should do the trick
  20. You cauld look at 4 or 6 8" on that power and similar size box
  21. +1 there atlot harder to design then the STD boxes and need to modeled to the sub an desired hz range
  22. you could try a 6th order rear 3cuft net @26hz (1x6"x33"long) front 5cuft net @57hz (2x6"x3"long) edit 16high x 29wide x 40deep or 16x30x40 with bracing you may want to run some tests on it, as some of my cals may be out
