HAH this is funny, i dont really like MTX because of their Gimmiks regarding the Jerkoff hammer... its the whoel MTX thing tho, i was talking to my friend and we got on the topic of amps, and i mentioned something about an rd audio am coming out that does 8000wrms, and hes like bullshit the highest amp right now is the 5000wrms jackhammer amp...i was like omg your a fag bro, and got in my truck and drove off, 6 months ago i thought this guy knew shit about car audio, then i got hooked and realized how much shit he has been feeding me for a while... rant over....

i think hes looking for more direct advice then a stright out plan, i know i have asked the same question about sub dimensions accoding to the box, i would say check out the t-line utorial in the sub/enclosures section, a tline would be great fr a 15 since you have the room take advantage of it...

18 woul dbe hella loud in a tline, and they are evry affordable, i thought they were 400 cuz thats the price shipped to me in canada.... you have the room foran 18, the q is rated for rms perfect for the amp you have, why not use it to its pontential?? and take advantage of your room to, i fyou need more persuaion with the 18s, check out some of steves vids...thatll get ya goin....

i work in a body shop, and a truck came in a newer dodge ram, anywho, he took out his center console, and made a box with 2 10'' subs ported, then made a nice lil leather flat peice to go over top of everything by about 3'', the sound coming out of them was good for the discreet placement, he had it carpeted and everything, i didnt even notice it was there till i turn the beats up a lil bit, then i started searching, lol.... if you dont need your armrest might be something kool to do....

dood a 2000 tahoe?? thorw a 18 back there , fi q, like 4 bills, that thing will get moving with a RF 1001bd, and in the right enclosure will sound great, and perform all day at full tilt, in the right box...

personally i like the look of multiple subs, plus 2 15s is alot more cone space..... about where to put the amps and stuff make a 3 inch skirt around the bottom of your box and put them underneath, and buy some smal computer coling fans and hook them up to move air.. thats what i was thinkin of doing, if im right meade has one of his 4001bd under his box right??

ok, well i wasnt sure what you meant by adjust your gains accordingly, i thought you meant that its ok to turn it up as much as i want until i am satisfied... which isnt they way i was told to adjst them.. good thing we got this cleared up...

but the voltage can fluxuate is waht im getting at, if i set my gains, tand then try turning it up to show off i could possibly pop my subs... i know gains control the amount of power to the sub, but i cant just turn them up to get more power....

just shoot the shit with the guys for a bit about you system and ask if the have a mic and see if they will let you use it, they will prolly ask for like 10$ or something but it would prolly be worth it...

throught your voltage output, from your decks preamps, at least that how i understood it...

i say 15s shouldbe aleright, or if you liek 18s one 18, but i like multiple subs, 15 are still the shit dude, and they will be loud as shyt in that lil car...

yea i new what you meant dood, i just was pointing out that my gains shouldnt have anything to do with turning up my subs, my gains shoul dbe set according to my deck, not how loud i want my subs...

i am getting 2 18'' fiqs, i keep getting alot of flak, but hey fuk the haters, mine wont be as power hungry, but once you murder everyone elses' sstem around you, get bigger amps, and start killing ear drums :D i fyou have the room i say 18' for sure!!!
