  1. I've had fairly good results with 2 cuft per @ 33-35hz so pretty much to spec than. do you know how they would perform ~2.5feet^3. what would happen if i slapped them in 5feet^3 each?
  2. so i've been guided towards some SA 12's for my next build. but i had some questions about them before i get them. anyone know when the v.2 SA-12's will be coming out? and also what size box(in cubic feet) would 2 SA-12's get loudest in? (ill be using an 8" aeroport if that helps)
  3. what would you guys consider a good size box in cubic feet for 2 Sundown SA-12?
  4. yeah i did, aeroport, so its much less displacement than a slot port.
  5. trunk of a 2002 camry. i mean i could just take up the entire trunk space and get a 10^3 foot box but i still want a little room for groceries in college lol
  6. alright so i'm just doing some more pre-planning and was still deciding on my route to take im goign to be running a Crescendo bc2000d with proper electrical(no worries about that) but my max dimensions are 42w x 17h x 21d (all in inches of course) so i calculated and thats roughly 7feet^3. i kind of have my heart set on some Sundown SA's so i didnt some figuring and if i put some 15's in there, thats about 6.7feet^3. do you think that's enough air for some 15's to breath or should i just stick with some 12's and make the box a tad bit smaller to accommodate them?
  7. IMO i think they are priced fairer, they are very powerful batteries and have great simple designs
  8. well i currently have two 12" type R's. i had a 4.5feet^3 box (after all the displacements) with a 6" pvc pipe in the middle btween the subs and off an alpine MRP-M1000. had all my doors flexing and rear view mirror fall off numerous times.
  9. i like Kinetik batteries, just saying. well you could use 8awg for the power and ground on that RF amp
  10. 12awg speaker wire is fine for that application.
  11. wanting to trade my 2 type R's. looking to explore more into the world of subs. looking for maybe Sundown SA's or DC Level 2's? offers please:)
  12. those Kicker L series love GIANT ports. i would even dare to say go with a 6" aeroport or a 4"wide slot port.
  13. they'll sound great. i know kicker does make decent subs and RF makes great amps. those L5's will love the extra CLEAN power. just don't clip and you can run those all day long.
  14. Crescendo comes in Wednesday
  15. yeah, i do have some knowledge of electrical myself. and tbh i knew that since the 4awg run was so short it wouldnt have mattered. because legnth of wire has to my calculated in with the power your pushing to determine the size. so with that said i just wanted to make sure. thus from this thread i'm pretty much going to use a run of 4awg, fused after the distribution block ESPECIALLY since i have found out the bc2k has NO built in fuses, which is a kinda dumbfuck decision IMO. but it doesnt matter since fusing doesn't hurt. (unless its between your alternator and battery and you have no other runs of power between them, then ur dead on the side of the road LOL) and since its a 0awg into a 350watts max pioneer 2 channel and a 1.1k rms bc2k, i know the 0awg would be fine. because it's not like im distributing a single 0awg into 4 different 0awg runs. it's kind of what a distribution block is for. but after all this, ill just run the 4awg, and fuse it. future plans, run 2 0awg from the front to back battery(fused on both ends) power wire from back battery to amps(fused in between) and it'll all be gucci. thanks for all the input guys.
  16. so when i have my rear battery put in, ill have a 200amp fuse on both battery, & a 200amp fuse by the bc2k. that sound right?
  17. awe i was hoping i could find out. maybe i'll just call tech support or something if im curious enough. ahh oh well ill just slip a 100amp fuse right before the amp. what size fuse would u suggest when i run it at full ~2100rms?
  18. just fuse and use the 0 gauge ....and for the love of GOD why do kids like you insist on having shirtless pics as your avatar this isn't fuckin myspace its a car audio forum with 99.9% dudes yeah i plan to do that. well 1st off im logged in with facebook and its actually an entire pic of me on the beach because, you know, its summer and all. so i couldnt really get to pic which part of the pic SMD chose as my avatar, believe me i hate those guys too. i would chose a neck up pic but SMD doesnt give me the liberty to crop/pic which part of the pic as my avatar. my apologies lol.
  19. btw, does anyone know if this has built in fuses and capacitor? i think i read somewhere it has a built in cap but anyone know what size?
