  1. What I don't get, and nobody has pointed out that I've seen, is he used 500 amps for the math on one 20ft. run. The resistance figures used wouldn't be the same at that level. The difference between ofc/cca at 250-300 amps for the 20' run would be much smaller than the example he made. Doesn't resistance increase as current increases? If so, the values of 0.1 (ofc) and 0.17 (10% cca) were for how much current? Using these two factors, and *300* amps in the formula, I get .6v drop for ofc, and 1.02v drop for cca.
  2. The quoted response from Db-r seems logical. Obviously if someone was mis using any equiptment and it fails repeatedly, he can't keep fixing it for free. However...in my situation, my amp had a intermitent (sp?) turn-on or power-up problem. It had this problem before I had access to a dd-1, after it was dd-1'd, and before I sent it to db-r. $150 later, I was told there was something loose on the board and he soldered some wires underneath it. He also changed some caps that are known to fail but they hadn't yet. .Before I got the amp back from him is when I was told not to use the dd-1 on it or it would void his warranty. The amp came back doing the same thing it did when I sent it in. Granted, the problem is intermitent, and the amp will turn on fine and operate fine, sometimes. So I understand the possibility of it not acting up when he had it. When I offered to send it back, and even pay the bench fee again, he said I'd be better off to just sell it. I've put it in other vehicles, its been hooked up to a battery on my kitchen table, and it does it regardless of the "install". The "buzzing" sound some class d amps make internally when they see clipping (thanks Tony), is the same sound mine makes at turn-on. At the same time sending 110-120 v to the outputs. Even with the rca's unhooked. Power, ground, remote only. Sorry for the novel, but my issue has nothing to do with gains, clipping, voltage, volume, impedence, the grass being green or the sky being blue, or a dd-1. I know it, he knows it. "pass the buck" comes to mind and I feel taken...
  3. Ok, thank you. I was also told by a "authorized" repair facility not to use a dd-1 on a Sundown or I would void his warranty on the work he did.
  4. The only thing I can come up with to express how I feel about how that looks is the word "successful".
  5. Forgive me, but why have readouts at 10v's and 15v's? Seems like those 6 or 7 "spots" on the face could be more "spots" in the usable range, if you will. I would think with a tighter range it would move smoother. I dont know about most of you guys, but when I see 12.xx volts, I back it off a bit. The high voltage guys could have their own...HVM-1.
  6. Does anybody know dbr's turn around time on amp repairs? Ive done the whole "ticket" thing they want you to do, but Im sure I won't hear back till Mon.
  7. Mmmm, gets loud, gets low, and gets down! Not sure which is my favorite yet. Hes pretty smooth and not all gangster, I like it. *edit* listened again...#6, say she wanna. If this song don't make you get down, your not human! Awesome!
  8. What is "lossless"? New to the whole music downloading thing. This will be my first time, lol. Which is the best quality, and can this be downloaded directly to a Samsung galaxyS?
  9. Yeah, not too sure about features etc., but the screen was just like that.
  10. You lost me there kranny.....you might be chasing numbers, Im not. How about answering atleast part of a question?
