  1. putting the port across the top instead of the bottom (still firing forward) would not be louder on a meter. Firing the box up with the port across the back (by the back window) would be louder on a meter.
  2. It would have to be a level 3 8". The diameter of the motors for the level 4 and 5 are too large. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/dirol.gif
  3. Why dont you make any 8's??? Make me some level 2 or 3 8's. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif
  4. Use the resonant frequency of your car to level match gains. If you dont know it then 50hz is a good choice but it doesnt "have" to be 50. .....and higher frequencies do NOT draw more current. Higher frequencies = less current.
  5. yes...assuming they are all 12v batteries. All positives together and all negatives together
  6. Its true. Your only hope is to port it and tune high. (40ish)
  7. 3 18's sealed or 3 15's ported
  8. LOL...... http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/custom/fr...,0,637331.story
  9. get an amp thats rated anywhere from 1000 to 1200 at 1 ohm mono and you will be fine.
  10. 1.33 is correct. a single 4 and a dual 2 has the same final impedance if the dual 2 coils are ran in series.
  11. that amp wont work. You need one that will run 1 ohm mono. ....and who the hell is okcchad?? there can only be one person on here from okc.
  12. *ahem* .....and i dont have any cash but id like to come kick your tires.
  13. Definately the Memphis 4Kw's. I can probably get you a better price.
  14. good choice 40Wide X 16.50Deep X 15Tall 38.50Wide X 1.50Tall x 13.00Long subs up firing as far forward as possible slot port across the bottom of the box firing back. Divide the center of the port with 3/4 to brace it.
  15. By making it 20 deep, does that still allow some room for a rear firing port? or is that all there is? If you only have 20 deep to work with, 2 12's would be louder than 2 15's. I dont like doing "swappable" port systems because there is no way to get the full potential for spl or for street beat. Both will be "half assed" IMO. The best thing to do is tune somewhere in the middle so its as loud as possible all around.
  16. nooooo...that thing is LONG gone. I sold it to a shop in Florida then they sold it to a shop in South Carolina who then sold it to a shop in Indiana who then sold it to someone else. No idea where it is now. Its junk now.
  17. I dont remember the dimensions anymore but from looking at the pics i figure its about 34 cubes total. Minus the sub displacement, baffle, and about 11.50 cubes for the port area. Probably about 18 cubes after all the displacements. Is your box just square now or does it have an angled back wall? 68-72 is ideal for the astros.
