My Rfp2 15's
AlpineGuy87 replied to Braden062005's topic in Member Videos - Host 'em & Post 'em! System Vids / Off Topic
wow that looks pretty sharp man!! =D hey question for anyone, with angling the subs UP in a trunk of a car... is there a benefit to that.. cuz i'm getting a 15" and i think it would fit better in my car if it were UP or at an angle.. is there a downfall to angling the subs UP in a car trunk? -
Material For 45 Degree Corners!
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
kinda moving the questions away from the topic zax.. lol.. but yea, always apply wood glue to any pieces that will be joined, them apply either screws or nails. if you use screws, pre-drilling the holes is a good idea cuz you could split the MDF... =( but yea, the Triangle Wood pieces would be slammin man! Check out lowes or home depot, my dad said he's seen em at lowes.. thats where i'll prolly get mine. -
Material For 45 Degree Corners!
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
hey that would work.. the right wall paneling.. lol.. would save on cutting lol.. and prolly be whole lot easier to work with.. just some glue... few nails.. and done! lol.. Thanks for the idea! -
Material For 45 Degree Corners!
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
what do you mean by "MAT" them.. like fiberglass? Cuz i was trying to find an alternative to fiberglass and other expensive routes.. going with cheap route but still effective you know.. the way i see it.. lots of wood glue and some wood pieces would do the trick.. -
Material For 45 Degree Corners!
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
i like that box design. Very helpful information. I think the flared piece gives the air a longer way to flow.. like if you notice, if the air passes on the right side, it has to follow the design, meaning its going from the sub then back to the sub then out the port.. I dont think i'll flare mine at all but i do know it looks pretty cool. lol. That kinda the same setup i'll do with my 15" BL. Well.. i suppose lots of wood glue and some extra MDF might do the trick for the 45 degree angles. I wouldn't mind resin as long as it keeps my cost down... lol.. -
yea... well i've never seen or done soldering techniques, lol.. so i'll have ot test it out on something.. lol. does the pen/iron really help out tho? would it be worth to spend $5 lol.. i mean i'm beginner lol.. so... maybe i'll get a small torch thing.. what you recommend for torch?? something pretty cheap by the way, if you havn't noticed.. lol.. i''ll prolly only use it on these wires when i upgrade my wiring.. so.. lol.. one time use kinda thing.. 10$ could i get like small tank and torch piece?

haha.. hats right!! he'll see its potential and power!! i think he'll pull through.. lol.. and side wit the Fi !!!

Best 8inch Subwoofer! Most Excursion!
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
well it all depends on price too.. cuz i want to build a nice 4 - 8" sub box enclosure.. either for my car or my room.. either way i want to keep the cost down.. i want to get a REALLY nice 4 sub setup with like 100 $bucks.. lol.. of course this will be a later project after selling some old... OLD.. system stuff.. it will all be for fun stuff!! =D hehe.. i'd say the 4 MA Audios for 80$ is a really good deal.. -
Hey, just a question.. I heard there were different kinds of solder material.. what is the best for using on power wires?? or any audio wires in general... Dont mean to feel stupid but maybe others have the same question.. anyone know the best materials or methods for soldering wires... ALSO... I found this 5.00$ solder "pen" at walmart i was going to use to solder some wires to clamps and stuff.. would it do the job.. ? i've never soldered before so i wouldnt buy a torch.. unless its HIGHLY recommended.. lol... Thanks guys!

AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
yea lol.. When I get my new amp and 15" BL i'll have upgraded wiring too... so i can give it the power needed! -
Think its a chain.. I'm getting a 15" BL. lol. Cant wait to see your build! =D
-
Hey, i know fiberglassing and resin and stuff is perfect for 45 degree corners and stuff.. But lets just say your so cheap as dirt (like myself) and you dont want to buy all that material.. is there a cheaper way to do it, like some cheaper liquid that will harden just as good..? or atleast do the same job.. but a whole LOT cheaper..
-
haha!! true!! i saw your meade videos on there! =D look like 10s or 8s, lol.. either way, i mean nontheless its cool system setup but he does show a little too much of a bragging side there.. lol Meade's got YouTube!!! lol i like it tho, the setup is cool and i like the multi sub wall but i agree he needs more power in ther!

NICE!! how come they dont have the "Fi" logo on them!?
