  1. My Zv4 10" sounds great on rms power from a SCV. Made me have the same thoughts as OP.
  2. Thank you for the answers i needed Nathan, much appreciated!
  3. Couple of pre-install questions i have about my new alternator. In this picture you can see the factory alternator beside the new one. I have circled a connection on the factory one that doesn't seem to be on the new one. It is a purple wire pigtail that comes out of the main connector on the truck & i'm not sure of it's function, what do i do with the factory wire? Here you can see the connection i'm talking about on the s series that matches the factory but is not on the elite. Here is the s series installed, you can see the wire i am speaking of coming out of the main harness and back to the single connection on the alternator. it is looped up into the small bit of looming a inch or so then comes back out. My other question is about the pulley. This is a picture taken (albeit at a poor angle for this question) when i installed the s series i currently have in my truck, i am wondering about the difference in pulley diameter as the factory and elite have the same size pulley am i going to have to swap the one that is on the s series to the elite for a proper ratio (3:1) for idle output? I think thats all the questions i have, everything else is pretty straight forward. If any other pictures are needed i can take them and post them up. Thanks in advance for your help.
  4. Got mine today. not much of a gain at idle from my 170 amp s series though.
  5. Hopes from the great white north of canuckistan for your speedy recovery from this Tony! I bet he probably OD'd on sound quality
  6. Excellent, thank you for the quick reply. Wasn't sure if there would be an issue with different impedances between front and rear. Didn't have a clue what terms to search for to find an answer.
  7. Here it is, Is it possible to have the front channels operating at 2 ohm and the rears at 4 ohm ? I would like to run a pair of SA-6.5CX's in each of my front doors and a single one in each of the rear doors.
  8. Paid for mine on the 7th, don't care how long it takes to build but three weeks later it would be nice to get a status update. 03/30 edit - Now been 16 business days not including the day i ordered it or good friday
  9. Necrobump with a request. In this springs upgrades & changes i'll be wanting to connect an audiocontrol Matrix+ to a EQS in close proximity to one another, would it be possible to have three sets of one foot SE series RCA's made? Considered the three footers but without being able to hide wiring under a false floor i don't want to have three loops of cable out in the open when the AC components won't be hidden away completely. If not possible could anyone recommend a HQ 1' cable like i'm looking for?
  10. It was either '94 or '95 in HS a friend had some JL Audio gear in his LeBaron. Didn't get my own system for another 6-7 years after that but that sound of those JL's triggered something for sure.
  11. Would a VM-1 board/guage face fit between (infront of) the two sweeps? Asking for a friend thats curious
  12. I was just really surprised at the difference between the two which is why i wanted to ask here. but like you said i may not have marked the arrow heads proper. Not sure what you're saying in the 2nd sentence, are you refering to the similarity in the gains (not the crossovers) that have been set? they where both turned down to the minimum before i played track 5 as asked in step 2 in the manual. Again excuse my reading comprehension it isn't one of my strong suites. Now that you mention that, i'm not 100% sure if i marked the arrow head on the one properly :unknw:i should double check just to be sure doesn't take much time. It really sounds good Steve, even at maximum output! which i can't always say for other systems i've heard set with the ear-o-meter. Thank you for the reply and questions.
  13. After setting it and disconecting the CC-1 then turning the test tone up a bit more the front and rear seemed to sound pretty well matched up. I don't diagree with you though Moreno, something doesn't seem right. maybe a potentiometer issue? I'll throw it on again tomorrow and double check.
  14. I now know my system is set up properly using a DD-1 & CC-1. Took all of maybe 5 minutes (of which 3-4 was spent reading & re-reading the procedures, stupid reading comprehension!) to get the job done right. The only issue (i think) is the difference in the hpf crossover set points (71hz) of the front and rear channels of the Sundown SAE-50.4 highlighted in red below Does this seem right? it's the only issue i think i might have
  15. It's a strange feeling losing someone who is a biological relative but you didn't really know them. My sister (who my parents gave up for adoption 2 years before i was born) passed away last year from diabetes complications. We had met twice in the past 10 years or so.
