  1. yup he on kauai. there's quite a few fi speakers in honolulu that i know of. couple on the other islands but none i heard of on kauai. smokeumtires, you gonna love that woofer. from a handful of guys here, we got a lot of people inquiring, wanting, and getting fi subs.
  2. i thought fs was the free air resonance. how does that play a part in an enclosure?
  3. it's not an old amp. it's my friends ddz1. it blew and got repaired and now it does that. just trying to see if there's something he could do rather than spend 150 just for shipping again.
  4. sorry guys i tried the search but it keeps saying the words are not long enough for a search. in any case what causes an amp to pop when you turn it on and off, even whith the rca's disconnnected?
  5. i love my bl. i got it fully loaded because i was gonna get a bigger amp. from the 10001bd to the 20001bd, it takes it. btw i didn't know you can get a third slug on a bl?
  6. i would do the rockford powerful enclosure. easier to build than the round ported boxes.
  7. i think he's saying that it does work. i don't like fleece, or at least the ones that we have at the stores here. the one's i played with stretch, but they don't go back to it's original shape. they just stretch out and end up sagging a little.
  8. how exact did you need it? every box i built was marked just like that wether it be 2 or more woofers. cannot be that off, besides we still talking about car audio?
  9. which ca glue and accelerator do you guys use to recone woofers. i seen like light med. and heavy. i even heard that people use tite bond 5 min. epoxy. just wonderig what works best for you.
  10. thanks yama for looking out for us hawaii boyz! it's cool blackwater not interested anymore. g/l with everything.
  11. the bl 10 if you still have it how much does it cost shipped to 96813? honolulu
  12. agreed that should do the trick. all you need is some cardboard and a this side up sticker and ship it out.......to hawaii. i'll let you know if i got it safely. what! i don't get to keep the woofer?
  13. my opinions. mat would depend on how curvy the thing is. i use the walmart one or the one from home depot. city mill got all the fiberglass hawaii stuff but i dunno if you guys have one on kauai. i use polyester resin or that bondo brand one from home depot. cheaper than the fiberglasshawaii resin. you can use anything that stretches. some like felt while some like fleece. i like a 50/50 polyester/cotton blend again from walmart. it stretches easy and comes out pretty smooth. mounting, get plenty different ways. check gp's builds. i would would glass the material then add mat to the back, less sanding in the end. mix resin and filler togther and paint that on the top. smooths stuff out nicely. after that i use 80 grit then 320 then primer filler. there's countless other ways and i hope this helps you.
  14. i've never seen the episode, but maybe he was checking his internal volume and didn't show him taking out the sand. i do it with styrofoam peanuts all the time. oh well, i dunno i sure would like to know what was up if he poured it in then mounted the subs right after.
  15. i want two 10" bl's, another t20001bd and an alt. i don't think my return will be that much, i hope i don't have to pay. as long as i don't have to pay i'll be pretty happy.
  16. i would try soundsplinter. i got to drink a few with the owner he's pretty cool and his little 8's is badass.
  17. started off good. gonna be kinda hard to get it all nice. use a grinder, it will save you a lot of time. and when you make your next box try to make it so that you can add the glass to the back instead of on top and it saves you a lot of time and headache.
  18. wow that's really nice. did he figure out a grill or is it gonna be just like that?
  19. right on for testing with hawaiian music!
  20. ^^^^^ i have to agree with him. my bl does real good with 2k watts. it's only a 10.
  21. here's a pic of what i'm doing to my car now. t20001bd and t8004. i know the wires are a mess but i had to test it right?
  22. i instead got a t2k. hopefully gonna meter in the next two weeks. just finished my test box so i'll keep you guys posted. ^^^^^^lol cool name btw.
