heating up the coils on the subs will make them less efficiant. also make sure that the inside air /outside air switch on your vents is closed... remember you dont want airleaks in your car. is it b drag or usaci. if it is usa u can open your driver window about half way and that could add a little. just remember that all these are helpfull (sometimes with some cars) ask around for help from veterens that are running the same type of vehical and see what tripcks they have found. good luck

yes it will affect performance but only when it is needed. that 160 is a peak...it probably cruises along at 75 amps until it engages during massive power draw. i have a 300amp on a 50 hp(rated when new) 3cyl. now has alot more wear. during normal driving i dont notice the differace from before i added it but it deffinatly will make the car surge when i am taking care of business!

just tighten the torsions alittle on the front to raise it up a bit. it would cost you nothing

lot of factors.. what kind of car is it a hatch, are the subs just going in the trunk however, are you going to fold down the seat and seal them to the cabin, vinyl or cloth seats size of car etc

if you are going that direction and making it a "trailor queen" just set it at the height that you desire and make it solid, just remember to keep it tall enough to load and unload off the trailor without hanging up

take some measurements and look for a set of front coils the same dia off an old car with a V8. i got a set from a 71 chevelle, cut a little off and heated and flattend down the top coil so that it was the same as the coil i removed from my car. the car rides better than it did before and has about 600 pounds extra in the back. i can also sit on the hatch and car will remain at stock height.
