Who does the World Famous West Coast Customs call when they have a big heat issue and need to quiet down a huge build? Yep, that's right, Team Second Skin!!! Team Second Skin had an amazing MLK weekend in the sunny and fun Burbank, CA working with the world famous West Coast Customs build team on a huge build for their upcoming new season on Velocity Channel. We are excited for the episode to air featuring our newest product line Mega'Block Hydrophobic Melamine Foam Heat Shield, along with the high quality staples like Damplifier Pro, Luxury Liner Pro, Damp Rope, and Speaker Tweakers. When we say this build is huge, it is no understatement, this build is pushing 218 total sqft of raw metal that needed to be DEADENED and West Coast Customs reached out to us to take on this huge task. Got my 40 pounder of b-stock In today. I weighed it out of curiosity, it weighs in at 44lbs so I got even more for my money. There are 53 sheets, they are all about 20" x 12.5" some being a tiny bit bigger or smaller Mostly damplifier which is cool with me because I get more square footage. You can tell instantly when you get a piece of damp pro, it has a lot more weight to it. And of course the damp rope you guys hooked me up with was also in the box. Already got a couple ideas for experiments to test this stuff on. It is thicker than other butyl rope products I've had and is very sticky. Second Skin Ftw!!!!!!! -

The product contains trimmed factory error pieces of both Damplifier and Damplifier Pro, we try to keep it more Pro than regular, the pieces are hand trimmed to remove any unusable pieces and it results in a great discounted box for dampers on a budget. The B Stock does contain pieces that may have wrinkles, uneven edges, and/or +/- 25% butyl rubber thickness but are still made from the same high quality 100% American made butyl rubber and 6.5 mil foil as the A Stock Damplifiers. B Stock products are not always in stock as they only are available upon factory errors, but they do come back in stock in burst throughout the year so always check back if they are out of stock when you first check. The 40 pound B Stock box can be found and purchased here at: http://store.secondskinaudio.com/damplifier-damplifier-pro…/ In this project I used about 15 pounds of the 40 pounds of B Stock. I only did single layer coverage as I do not have a loud bass system or loud exhaust in this vehicle. Hey guys! We've been getting some inquiries about a product we used to carry called Firewall. Firewall is a ceramic coating similar to the Spectrum, but rather than block sound it blocks heat using microscopic glass spheres instead of dense materials. This is a product we've seen offered by a few different companies and we wanted to know your opinion. Science says it won't do much for sound insulation as all it can do is add mass to the metal, but maybe it can keep panels from rattling by holding them together, or some other application. Just wondering what those who have used it before have done with it, or what other uses you might be able to think of.
