  1. browser keeps crashing so this will be done in sections. Let me start with saying this build was done in the sub 20 temperatures with occasional snow showers. I only had 3 days to complete build due to long work hours so it was kinda rushed! I came here looking for ideas on a new build to upgrade from my original 4 kicker comp cvr's and this is the results! 160 Ft" of 2/0 EB-Flex welding cable 2 XS D3100's Sky High fuse blocks Sky High 200 amp fuses Sky High 1/0 oversided copper lugs Sky High shrink tube 1 set of aluminum battery blocks
  2. So It's now time for me to update what's going on. I have had 3 systems in the two vehicles I've had, and this one (number 4) by far takes the cake. It's not finished yet, far from it, but as it stands now, I'm grinning like a moron every time I turn it up. Smashing lows! Videos coming soon after a few fixes with the box. I'll post pics as soon as I find them, my hard drive is a mess. Gimme a few minutes...
  3. Reposting this from the "other forum". Haven't gotten one reply there, hopefully it is more active around here. Ok. So for my fifteenth birthday, my parents bought me my second vehicle. Well, I say my second, but the first was an old junk Foxbody Mustang that I hoped to restore. So as my Daily, my dad found a 2000 Ford Ranger. That's cool. It's the one year only color, Mandarin Copper, it has just enough chrome to be nice, but not ghetto. The only problem? It is a single cab! So, when I started talking to my girlfriend, and her dad, who both are serious about their systems (She has a Sundown X-12, and he has an RE Audio XX18) He had a Rockford Fosgate P2D2-12 for sale, and offered to cut me a deal on it because I help him out on different things all the time. He said if I gave him $50, he'd sell it to me and build me a box to fit it in my truck. I was doubtful, but I figured if it ended up not fitting, I could at least sell it for $75 and make my money back on it. Well, he came through, and built me a sealed box for the 12, and that's when I realized that the cheap crap that I called a Dual amp was blown. So, when the next project came around, he offered to buy me an amp from his brother, who also was into car audio. We put a Rough Country 5 inch lift on his 2010 Jeep, and he bought the two amps that his brother had. Well, when I finally installed one, it didn't work. So I tried the other one, and it worked, but it distorted terribly, and only one of the two channels worked. So he offered to buy me a brand new Hifonics HFI 1000.1D, and even gave me some new 4 Gauge Power and ground, and a set of RCA's.
  4. Well boys and girls, I am finally posting a build log. After a long, busy winter break, I finally have enough progress to justify posting this. And after a few busy weeks of school, I finally have time to do so. Here's a rundown of what all I have for now. I am currently running a Pioneer MVH-P7300 head unit, an Orion 4004 amp for the mids and highs, which are Planet Audio big bang series components. For the subs, I have 2 Diamond Audio D610D4's powered with a JL G1700 wired at 4 ohms to give me an unfortunately low 350 watts RMS (still gets pretty loud though). Over the break I built the box for it, and once I have a little more extra cash, I plan on upgrading the amp to either an AQ Q1-1200D, or a Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D UPDATE! Here are some pictures of the box building, and installation of accent lighting, and the amp. The subs: The box: Threw out this old piece of shit box: Added some accent lighting: Switch hidden in drivers footwell: Illumination (they're purple, even though they look blue here) : Night shot of the lights: Tried pulling my truck into the garage to work on it at night... I only needed about 2 more inches. Getting the amp in (its mounted under the center seat.) A few cosmetic upgrades: That's all for now, once I get a job up here in the Metroplex I am gonna carpet the box, and start upgrading the system piece by piece. A lot of the wiring was there from the previous owner of the truck, and I plan on tearing the whole thing out and doing a ground up rebuild once I have the funds to do so.
  5. I would really appreciate some help in designing a ported subwoofer box for 2 Sundown SA10's to fit behind the seat of a single cab Dodge 3500 Dually. We are currently running a single m5mojo with a pr1000.. I got the dimensions of the port from Memphis and made da box with the help of the Rockford box wizard but we are changing over to the Sundown's see if we can get a little more bass out of the set up.The rest of the system includes and Alpine cda 9886, Rockford P400-4 running a set of Polk Audio 6x9's on da doors.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. This is my first actual build log. iv'e had the system for a while just been making some upgrades. hopefully here in a couple weeks ill have enough money for better subs. back in december i bought a 97 k1500 from my dad. about a month later i found out the valve guides where pretty much gone, and a few other things. it was smokin like a diesel. took the engine apart and the cylinder walls where shot.. chips and cracks. so i bought a used engine with 117k on it. truck has 137k. anyways... my headunit is a double din jvc exad. i picked up for pretty cheap. and with a little cutting and wire tucking i made it fit. Door speakers are alpine type s 6.5 coaxs. picked them up on sale for 30bucks not complaining. subs are 2 10" rockford p3s shallows. 600w max each. have them running on a ppi black ice 1200w amp wired down to 1 ohm. in some weird ass box i got for free. they honestly sound pretty good for what they are but don't play low enough.. or loud enough. they flex the truck a little but i want more. i haven't honestly decided weather to spend the money and do a blow through or just find a nice sub like 50cal and krakin. By the way thanks guys, after seeing your builds i got excited and figured i'd start working on mine. i have the big 3 done it audiopipe 1/0. 4ga stinger power and ground. ill get more pics tomorrow, cant find my camera battery. here's when i first got it. got bored with plasti dip. it's all off now besides taillights.. yes i plasti dipped my tail lights. like i said i'll get more pictures tomorrow. if anyone has any ideas or anything let me know. i not sure which direction to head yet.

    4 t1 12 in blow throu box

So I just cut out my cab to put in a blow throu with 4 t1 new model rockfords and have 2 2000 watt hifonics going to them but is there any way to do a hair trick box is 15 h 49in wide and 34 in long what else do I need everything running at 14.4 v
  8. Ok so I just made a box for my single cab truck for 4 12 in t1 its running off 2 hifonics 2000 watts and 2 kinetic batteries but I was wondering if there is any way I am able to do a hair trick in my truck the box is 15 in h 34 in long and 49 in wide any suggestions
  9. I was just wondering about what you guys thought a reasonable price on a custom box for a single cab s-10 would be for 2 12s. Right now i have a prefab box but i want to have as big of a box possible that i can fit behind the seat without doing a blow through or anything of that sort. Thanks.
