How come 18" PA sub has less xmax(Peavey Lowrider 18" 5.7mm xmax)than a 12" car audio sub?(DC LV1 12" 12mm xmax) i know power handleing comes into play. if higher xmax is better for sq then how come the pros dont use it in thier bass cabinets? whats the difference in the build prosess? i have seen videos of how pa subs are built and how car audio subs are built and they look the same. so what makes pa subs different? ♠ FreekDesignz Demo Collection ♠ Everything You Need To Know About Car Audio Torres' Box Tuning Calculator

And there is more than just xmax that determin how it will sound.usualy it is easier to get high liniarity with a low xmax sub than one with high xmax

My main question is why the Xmax difference between the two. It would seem the Pro Audio subs cost sometimes twice the price but with less xMax and power handling. How about SQ subs? Are they more like Pro Audio subs?

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
