DannyV18 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum (copper clad aluminum is something like 90% aluminum), so for the size, 100% copper wire is a much better choice than CCA.

fr34kout Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) is pure copper wiring, some companies will tin the wires on the outside to help prevent corrosion, but the wire itself is copper. CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) is Aluminum wire that is coated in a very thin layer of Copper on the outside. It's less conductive than OFC, and is not able to carry the same amount of current as OFC.
