RAM_Designs Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 If you have $300 to spend: http://cgi.ebay.com/DTR1-2200D-SOUNDSTREAM-1CH-AMP-4400-W-MAX-SUB-AMPLIFIER-/120608722953?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item1c14d71009 I've heard a lot of good things about the DTR line from others. Someone opened one of the mono amps up and it looked pretty darn beefy. rubbernutz1 Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 well i agree on the quality part. hes runnig 3 15"s on a old ass quantum 1500w amp and it just dont produce what the subs r capable of.
FaTbOy911 Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 The Planet Audio doesn't do 1400rms. I'm not sure about the Audiopipe. But Sundown has a sale on used 1500ds for 340 IIRC. That's similar to pricing on what either of those amps cost. And you get better quality. Or I would go with the AQ 1200d, if you don't want to spend the little extra for the Sundown. X2 Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van. Playa Named Joe Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 if he has $300... buy a Audiopipe 3000d... under 300, and do rated... 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
Ford302Redneck Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 ok i git a sense that the planet audios are shit. any1 had experience with the audiopipes? i mean im with u guys on the quality part but this dude thats gitting the amps is a hard headed youngster and hes got his mind set on these PA isn't shit, maybe not the best, but still not bad. Also with Audiopipe, you said he wanted two of them. IIRC the 3000d or we, is just two 1500s internal strapped. Now, with AudioQue, it could be cheaper to go with a 2200d, that two 1200ds. Also, Sundown has a sale on some used 2500ds for 525. Cost a little more than AQ, but it does more power. There are good options for under 600 dollars for ~2500watts. Just got to figure out what best fit your needs.
ingramcaraudio Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Plant Audio BB2400.1 are clamped at 2k at 14.4 so overrated but not as much as they're made out to be. Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Farmville-VA/Rockwell-Audio/103036213076623?ref=ts
Ford302Redneck Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Plant Audio BB2400.1 are clamped at 2k at 14.4 so overrated but not as much as they're made out to be. I knew they was close to rating, but not quiet. I always figured 1800ish. Not bad amps, if I could get them at a good price, I'd run them. But they aren't really a deal, for the power they put out. But I will recommend them, if they fit the person's needs.
ingramcaraudio Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I got one on a deal but I like the rockford t1500s a lot better. But most can't get them for a decent price and sundown should be right there with the rockford for a better price online.
