etaks_crew
Well you can run it at either 2ohms or .5 So either a amp that does 2-3k at 2ohms (Kicker, Audiopipe 3k, there are others too) or a amp that is .5 capable also with a rating of around that at .5ohms Edited February 19, 2011 by etaks_crew

Sammitch0
You'll want about 104amps for ever 1500RMS. You'll want atleast 4kw on that badboy so I'd say you'd need about 300amps + whatever your vehicle calls for to effectivly runt hat subwoofer with no clipping. I'd hitup mechman or DC alts and get a good 300amp alternator and another yellow top. Bocaj
Like Sammitch said, you are definitely going to want a high output alt. Sammitch0
I won't quote but you're in the ballpark of spending around $600 for the alternator, the benefit will be worth more than just power options. Youll have less clipping which will make your equipment/vehicle electrical last a lot longer, you'll sound better and probably gain a dB or two, also no dimming lights and all that good stuff. Most people under-rate the alternator, I would buy a nice 150a from DC even if I didnt have a system because it makes the whip run way more efficient. etaks_crew
Depending on how he makes his box he might not need 4k. Since he only has one, I'm assuming he can make the box a bit on the bigger side. Then 2-3k would be plenty.
Sammitch0
2-3k would be plenty on the bigger scale but why sacrifice about 1,000 rms of power just because he doesn't have the alternator to run it? either way he's going to need at least a 270amp alternator so why not go the mile and get 4kw, even 4k on good power is under powering, a level 5 can do a good 5k on 14.4v daily. So you're suggesting running HALF that (2.5k-3k)I don't like it >.< Quote Grand Cherokee Team Backwoods Bumpers DC 15" Level 3's /w 4 Coils Pioneer deh4200ub Pioneer 3-ways Pioneer Tweeters Pioneer GM-D9500F Audiopipe 1500.1D @ 14.4v Clarion Equalizer Knuconeptz Kollosus 0ga Knuconpetz Kollosus 4ga Coming Soon: 270xp / xs1200
