Trouble starting my truck

Recommended Posts

I wasnt sure where to post this so mods if there is a better place please move it for me.

Ok I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma and for the last month I have had trouble with getting it started. The truck has a 5speed manual transmission and a 2.2 4cyl engine. When I turn the key to start it up all the lights come on but nothing happens. No clicking like the battery is dead or anything. The funny thing is, you can rock the truck back and forth violently and sometimes it would start??

I took the truck to a local dealer where they diagnosed it as a clutch safety switch. I bought the switch and replaced it and still have the same problem. The battery is charged, connections are good on the starter as well. The battery terminals are tight.

Has anybody had a problem like this? I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.
