2 amps, 2 subs, how many chambers, and how to compensate

I have finally designed a box using Torres' calc (awesome tool btw) and just ordered my second amp this weekend. I'm ordering 2 DC level 3 12s Friday as well.

My questions are: should the enclosure for these subs be one or two chambers? I dont want to start cutting and then realize the box im building will sound like crap. The reason I ask is because the wattage from the amps most likely will not be identical. The current amp I have (RF P500-1bd) puts out just over 700 watts @ 1 ohm according to the birthsheet. But I'm sure the second amp may not be identical. How do I compensate for this difference?

The box is going to be slot ported tuned to 32-33 hz either way. I also have a self-ranging DMM if that can be of any use.

One chamber is fine.

Wattage will be close enough if they are the same model amp. You can use a DMM and a 50 Hz tone to get the voltage pretty close to the same coming out of each amp.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

hook a dmm up to the amp play a 50htz tone and make sure you have the same voltage coming from each amp. then you'll be good.

R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
