dkindle613 Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 So got the new amp, and put it in.. noticed a pretty big difference... biggest difference so far is more voltage drop . Gonna have to meet up and get it tuned up. If you're like me though, where you're not using your full potential and then tune, the drop will be even harder UBL | Build Log
dkindle613 Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Yea for sure. I'm hoping it will help. Cus I really don't understand why I have such voltge drop with a 250amp alt, and both yellowtops.. Lbox88 Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 When we go to tune yours, I'll bring my DMM and we'll do a little testing to see if there's anything major sticking out. I know that old amp in my wife's car causes her headlights to dim BAD, but I also have yet to do the big 3 in her ride. Too cold and dark by the time I get him from work. UBL | Build Log
dkindle613 Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 I did fnd out today that my main ground for my truck on my front battery, the ground connection that hooks to the battery, is really loose and stripped out. Lbox88 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Report Posted December 23, 2011 That could definitely explain the voltage drops and smoked amp then. Let me know how it responds once you get it fixed. UBL | Build Log
dkindle613 Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Well I am currently broke at the moment, so I don't know when I will be able to fix it. But I did kinda pinch it on there with some pliers. Lol its workin so far..
