bumonskateboard6
Oh no....Please make your way around the forums and read a lot and learn before you go attempting 2 BTL's of 7k if you don't know about batteries. Also 12v batteries charge at 14v, 14v batteries charge at 16v, 16v batteries charge at 18+ volts. soo... whould do any harm to replace 12V batters for a 14V battery?? Yes because your alternator would not charge them and would slowly kill them. and if i only add a 2. battery?? would that help to impromve my sistem voltage?? Adding a second battery will help your voltage stay closer to 14.4 if you're having voltage drop. AMI CUSTOMS
I will just throw this in the mix, what voltage does meade charge his tahoe at? like 15.8 on 12 volt batts and he doesn't use a step down, his alts cold put out 16.6 and his electrical is fine. hdorre
off topic... would a 160amp stock alternator be enough for 1200wRMS?? 1200watts/ 14.4volts/.7*.6= 77amps In the equation, .7 is for efficiency and .6 is because you're probably playing music The car uses about 50 amperes, so 77A+50A= 127A. The alt is 160A, so you should be good. That's just an estimate though. Keep in mind that the alt is supposed to put out power at ~1700RPMs and up, and puts out less power at idle Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread
