rboudreaux77
Another question about the yellow tops. Can you get around 14.4v with them or do they not charge that high? I just read the 6 page thread about yellow tops and didn't see anything about that. All I saw was everyone saying where they sat with the car off. notorious97200
yellowtops or bluetops are not bad, but cheaper !!! Deka makes a G31 batt too : they're cheaper and good. 3500 is enough for your car, but you will have higher numbers on the xl's with the 5k. I don't know for how long they'll handle that power, but it WILL be loud for sure !!! Do the xl's rather than the level 5's : they will ask for a second 5k amp !!! Quote black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3 ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
matt402
agreed on a 5k & 2 XL 15s. do subs forward port up. most ppl have had the best results in compacts with that design. optimas are decent for the price, id do 1 under the hood & 3 or 4 in the bed. CJ18
The XLs on the 5k will be perfect, BUT make sure you get an Oscope to properly set your gains or you will run the risk of damaging the subs. This goes for any subs not just the XLs, the risks of running a clipped signal can only cost you money in the long run. Im want to get one of those things that steve did a video with that shows when you have a clipped signal but until then i think the DC amps use the same bass knob like my AQ2200 that have the clipping light on it. So until then that will have to do Quote http://www.dcsoundlab.com/ 2008 Chevy Impala (Daily Driver) Pioneer touchscreen w/navi 1 DC XL 15" (around 4cuft ported box) 1 AQ2200 1 AQ90x4 Memphis MClass 6.5s (front doors) Memphis MClass 6x9s (rear deck) stock alt & front batt; 1 Red top in the trunk 139.2db sealed (on my old JL1000/1) 140.0db outlaw (on my old JL1000/1) 1992 Chevy S-10 Ext cab. I was thinking of subs forward port up to maybe give me a lil more room but how would the port be done? I was gonna have it on the drivers side and I was leaning more towards 2 12XLs now for more space with subs and port up. But if subs forward and port up will work I might change my mind back to 15s lol. Can the port be in the middle up and a sub on each side? I just like symmetry Quote http://www.dcsoundlab.com/ 2008 Chevy Impala (Daily Driver) Pioneer touchscreen w/navi 1 DC XL 15" (around 4cuft ported box) 1 AQ2200 1 AQ90x4 Memphis MClass 6.5s (front doors) Memphis MClass 6x9s (rear deck) stock alt & front batt; 1 Red top in the trunk 139.2db sealed (on my old JL1000/1) 140.0db outlaw (on my old JL1000/1) 1992 Chevy S-10 Ext cab.
