89capricebass
So I recently sold my car and my head unit with it. So I'm in need of a new one. the two I'm looking at are the Kenwood KDC-348U and the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395 . the 348U has 2.5 volt pre amp outputs and the X395 has 4 volt pre amp outputs. My question is will the a noticeable difference between 2.5 volts and 4 volts? Is it worth the extra $10 to get the X395? bumonskateboard6
Yes there is a difference, I'd pay the extra 10 dollars. sprkn_ranger
Sorry for the thread jack, but what makes it better to have higher pre out voltage? I've always wondered but never have found out. Guest
higher preout voltage lowers the gain setting on your amplifier(s). the higher the voltage, the less your amp has to boost that voltage up. higher preout volts also help with a cleaner signal, as again, the amp doesnt have to increase it as much as a lower voltage. Besides not having to turn the gain on the amp up higher, the higher the prevolt output the less chance you will hear the musics floor noise threw the speakers. When you say "the musics floor noise" what do you mean by that? I've never heard that term used before.
