ClarkB
Okay i have a 2-channel 1500 watt rms amp, that is 2ohm stable and I have it hooked up to (2) 15-inch DVC 4Ohm Subs wired at a 4Ohm load. My question to you guys is that if I run it in parallel to bring it down to 2Ohms would that be better cause I'm only getting around 450 watts on each channel at 4Ohms, but my friend today said that they could only be wired up at 4Ohms or 1Ohm, but i think he is referring to a mono-block amp and not a 2channel.. Any Help peeps? Lost Legacy
can you bridge the amp? Edit: and by 2ohm stable, do you mean each channel is 2ohm stable? ClarkB
can you bridge the amp? Edit: and by 2ohm stable, do you mean each channel is 2ohm stable? Im pretty sure each channel is stable at 2ohms for 1500 watts on each channel, and bridging the amp brings it to peak power of 3000 watts on one channel. nCOMP1337
if its a 2 chan at 1500rms, than it would most likely be doing 750 per chan plus 2 dvc 4 ohm subs wired in parallel would present a 1 ohm load not a 2 ohm and if wired in series gives it 4 ohm load, is there another way you will wire it

ClarkB
Okay ill add some clarity with a diagram of how its hooked up.. This is how its hooked up now. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-ohm_2ch.jpg I'm wanting to hook it up this way, just need to know if its correct, and wont cause any harm. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_2ch.jpg Can i even wire two 4ohm subs to 2ohms? cause it requires more current 50% more, and its recommended to be more efficient i feel as if not there not really hitting to there potential being wired at 4ohms Edited March 24, 2011 by ClarkB Quote Current Setup: 90' Lumina (My Hoopty) (2)15 inch Phantom Woofers (1)3000-watt amp. 1500w RMS -120 amp alt. -JVC Deck. -JVC 4x6's and 6x9's. -Dual Battery powered. -All 0 Gauge. -Big 3 Soon2come.
