Sold My MTX9515-44 . . Can't Decide Which one to get next .please help

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna go ahead and throw out my bandwagon and say a level 4 with level 5 softparts...2 of my level 3's got louder than 2 3512's off similar power (probably 400w) less on the level 3's..but enclosure is everything..that 3515 and AQ will want a bigger box unless you use more power. Dc's like relatively small boxes

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

Yeah, dd and AQ like big boxes..id do 4 cubes if you were runnin like 2k to it..but you're not. 4.5 cubes is what I'd do

Many subs that we use and recommend are underrated. My DD3515 is rated to handle 1200wrms, but I've heard from many people that it's safe to run 2000wrms or less to it. If you want to get the most out of your subwoofer, wouldn't you give it the needed power?

From what I've been reading about the Aq HDC315, it can handle about 2000w nicely, and want's more. So if you were only giving it 1000w, you are only getting 1/2 of what your sub can actually put out...

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

thats because you were probably sending a clipped signal to the sub causing the coil to heat up and eventually blow the sub, but im gonna go with everyone else and say the AQ HDC3-15 copper coils

All subs are not built equally, and the reason for them burning up like that could be due to clipping from your amp...

But if you don't fell comfortable running more than it's rated for, that's fine mate :D It's your system, do what makes you happy. It's going to slam either way!
