SPLadd1ct
I am going to be finished with my build in about 2 weeks. My electrical is a Mechman 220A alternator, an XS D2400 up front, 2 (two) XS D3100's in the back, and 2 (two) positive runs of Stinger HPM 1/0 gauge from front battery to back battery, big 3 in Stinger HPM 1/0, everything else is also Stinger HPM 1/0 and speaker wire is Stinger HPM 8 gauge. Anyhow I will be running a Sundown 4500D amplifier at a load of 0.7 ohms before rise. Someone told me that they were clamping at 2900 watts rms running the same exact scenario (Sundown 4500D @ 0.7 ohms). He didn't mention what the voltage drop was.... My enclosure is 3.7 cubic feet tuned to 33 hertz if you want to know. Let's hear what your set up is doing clamped, I'd like to see some test results. If I am only getting like 2700 watts rms clamped I think it may be time to strap another 4500D on there.... Ji553r
i clamped my sundown 1500d on a shitty stock <90 amp alt and front batt and only a kinetik hc2400 in the back. wired to 1.2 ohm the rise was to 4.2 ohms and got 832 watts so i fell in love with sundown because its rated at 800 watts right at 4 ohms Quote I don't fuck around. skittlesRgood
when i had my 1500's strapped i only got 1000w starting at 2ohm, rose to something stupid like 12ohm. wired to .5 strapped, rose to ~2.3ohm and got around 3500w. but the 4500 is a completely different board made by a different build house. so... I would have liked to see 35 hertz or something..... zerosktr111
Frequency makes no difference whatsoever as long as impedance is still the same! Rise is huge in most daily systems....just be glad it is or ALOT more people could cook their subs... A single 4500 should do fine for what you want it to do. 2 is absolute overkill.
