Bakerman Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 Got a fair amount of work done today. Got the "hard" shape of my box done. There are still some gaps in the corners, and they are so bad right now that in the words of the ratrodder, "Your air is leaking box". But, I got plenty of liquid nails, bondo, and silicone to fill in the gaps. So, first up was getting out the old box Next up was to measure and cut...my dad loves to help out alot. I guess it makes him feel young again. Box is taking a shape, and got the port painted while it was opened. The walls are on the box...just showing how it looks, and a few gaps that showed up
Bakerman Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 Working on the flush mount double baffle...this is the first time I ever tried this, and it was rather difficult. But, I think it turned out decent...and thats a big decent. 1) So first I lined up both baffles, and secured them together. 2) Then I placed the gasket on the top baffle, and traced the Inner Diameter, and the Outer Diameter 3) I drilled a hole on the edges of the Inner Diameter in order to be able to see the edges on the bottom baffle. 4) Then I removed to top baffle, and lined the Inner Diameter of the gasket up with the 4 holes, traced it and cut it out. 5) Next, I used the jigsaw to cut out the Outer Diameter on the top baffle. 6) Now I can put them together. Looks pretty good.
Bakerman Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 Okay, so the rest is just putting the box together and getting it in the car. So, I know its not that neat right now. But, I'm gonna seal it all up, and level off all the edges...and also round off the port. Then got a competition this sunday. Afterwards theres gonna be a floor put in, and the box secured to the floor. It will all look clean once I finish up. Enjoy!
