kogwanted Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Ok so my little brother wants subs he got two type r 1242d well he don't have an amp so I gave him my old Sony xplod "1000watt" 2/1 I know for nOw till he gets money to get some thing else well I only bridge my stuff I'm a noob on this stuff I hooked it up bridged u barely turn it up and of course it goes into protect so can I just run each sub off of one set of +n - cuz one set on the amp has btl over two of the terminals o don't know what that means can I hook a sub to that and another to the other set like I said I no it's shitty but he wants some baby bumps till he can get a decent amp thanks

Tarball Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Also, if I follow this correctly and if i've got the specs right: Subz: 2 12s dual 4 ohm Amp: (based on SON9-XM1652Z) 400 X 1 @ 4 ohm or 200 X 2 @ 2 ohm Wire each 12 in parellel to one side of the amp. each sub will get 200w (ish) (if your lucky). If the amp is just stuck in protect mode you may need another... in short, you may have it all bridge lower than the amp can handle.
