lantusx
I am going to go for a solid 2.1 ch HTPC Setup (Because my computer sucks, same with my tv..), and i will be in the market for a pair of GOOD tower speakers. Why not 5.1, 7.1 you ask? Simplicity, and price. O.o So, what would be a good, solid pair of tower speakers that cost around $500 a pair? I have my eye on a pair of Polk Audio speakers : http://www.crutchfield.com/S-PX16RL75WCS/c...i=107MON60C#Tab
MickyMcD
I would highly reccommend those Polks. They are well made speakers with technology to back them up. The cabinets (as a general rule) are quite well made, and this cabinet gives you the option of bi-amping if desired. They do have a very wide frequency response, however a woofer may be required for low-end extension. May I ask what amplifier is driving these speakers? pstone11
I'm a huge fan of Cerwin Vega towers.. Brutal loud. I know the dual 15 towers are pricy, but the single 15 or single 12 towers might be better pricewise. I do like polk also. qu1cks1lver56
JBL makes some nice towers, ive always been a fan of JBL and everything ive ever owned by them sound great, o and why the tower speakers? same here, JBL has always made a fine product. i would reccomend some definitive towers if u want some of the best, their towers with the built in 12" woofers sound nice, and they look pretty nice too, and u dont need a woofer. paul
Tower speakers are the shit. I don't know though, you hardly see any good one's around any more. Well that's me I guess. I'm old school. For me it was either pioneer or technics. Man I miss those day's. I guess the only thing that seems more appealing to me when it comes to towers is this. I just wish it had mids and highs built in. These are jl audio's g213. Yea, "2-13's". How original. Anyway the "g" stands for Gotham. Yup, Batman approved.
