using diodes to step up voltage

Recommended Posts

these are truly the best amps I have ever owned. Having matching amps is sexy by its self, Now add the needles and its sex. People love them until I say 1899.99 EACH lol.

I want one soo bad. I have a Sundown 3k (that I haven't used yet), so I guess that'll work  I love the RF Power bass knobs though. They just rotate...smoothly lolz. Idk how to explain it :/

The price definitely turns me away <_<

You may also want to recommend people not to connect the battery until you check the alt charging voltage.

People may not want to risk their 12v battery getting like 17volts. I know you said what resistors and alt you have, but the resistors may have different results on different alts. They also might try different size resistors.

DIODES! DO NOT use resistors!

If you disconnect your battery how can you start your car to see voltage? I WOULD START SMALL with the diodes. I began with this setup. Just be careful, I can't stress that enough.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

Unhook your alt, and start your car. Leaving you able to test your alt without ruining your 12v system.

LOL the "Punch knob" is nice, But I dont use any bass boost so I have no use for it. I just use my double dins sub control. -50 to +10 is plenty of adjustments for me. We O-Scoped the JVC Double din in my sig and the deck has VERY clean out puts.

You know what I meant. Thanks for looking out though.

You make a good point about starting the car. That's what happens when I'm overtired I guess :/ I'll have to reread this thread tomorrow morning.

How the hell can you test an alt with out it spinning at ~700 RPM's? :trippy:

The bass boost is the only thing I don't like about the knob. That's why a 3Sixty would be nice for me, because it offers gain control.

I demo my system all the time and working at a shop has its perk. I got my amps for a GREAT deal, both of them still cost me more than most people spend but I think it was worth it. People love them for their size, needles, and how loud them make my car.

I meant your Alt wire that goes to your battery. And yeah. lol. I didn't mean the belt.

In most cars if the output wires are un hooked most if not all of the vehicle is disabled... Not a bad idea if it actually worked though.
