jreese92
My battery and alternator is stock. I am going to run an AQ1200 and an amp for mids and highs (undecided on the brand, putting out 400 RMS range). Is it necessary to use an extra battery? Do i need to? zayres29
not needed for that power but with electrical its always best to have more than not enough at the very least you could upgrade the battery under the hood Quote Btw that was the first person. cyoung
I think it depends..if you turn up your system and the lights dim, I reccomend atleast another battery.some cars electrical is better then others when stock..I think even if your lights are not dimming and your electrical can handle your setup, it is still a good think to upgrade it
Guest
how many amps is your alternator? i highly doubt you will need another battery, but i'd recommend doing the big 3.
Skullz
An extra battery will help with light dimming so it doesn't happen till you start pulling some power from hitting those low notes at full tilt. I got one of these a year ago and am quite happy with it. http://www.autobarn.net/eas9a78dt.html Quote 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

I'm just gonna say everything is stock on a 2000 toyota solara. I bought pioneer 6.5s and 6x9s and largely regret it. By upgrading the big 3, are u talking about going to 0 gauge wires? Because i was trying to steer clear of that because it will draw so much power from my battery.
