RooTxBeeR
Well I never have used an O scope before on my sub or head unit, so I don't know at which point the gains and the HU clips. I never really go above 30 and my max it 35, it's just always been around there that my bass gets WAY to hard and gets bad in some songs. As for my amp I know that all amps clip at max, so I never went max, short maybe a .5 cm around. It would get smelly from time to time, and I would just slowly turn down the gain, and now I set it earlier today and it doesn't smell at all, even now for some reason it slaps harder than it did before. I have one songs tickle my nose and another make it feel like I have a small fan on my face. All I got to say is I am very happy and its awesome to slap so hard so long Edit: Lol on the mispell of oscope, ha stoned Edited April 7, 2011 by RooTxBeeR Quote On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. RooTxBeeR
WHAT U CAN USE AC VOLT METER! i feel dumb, thought it was o scope to set gains. w/e I can do this then my only question, when you need to cross reference the voltage and shit, I don't know how to figure that out Quote On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. nCOMP1337
oscope is the best way, or soon to be steves distortion listener will be good too but right now since i dont have oscope, i go the DMM route and set it the same way as the above link suggests, so far never had an issue, at the least its better than the ear-o-meter
Azagtoth502
O scope is the precise method, but this is the best you can do without one Quote pa-pa-platypus sorry not everybody has a companies nuts so far down their throat they catch every drop ball sweat when it falls

RooTxBeeR
Is there any way to use a AC meter to check when a HU clips?
